How to install stock steering wheel?

So my 66 has a grant steering wheel and hub installed. I have obtained the correct custom cab wheel (lucky craigslist find) and am planning on putting that back on. So far as I can tell I just pull the wheel and adaptor and fit it back on. Also not sure if I can keep the billet collar (looks kind of...

Re: Radiator mounting question on a 66?

Hassle free return at least. Did a bunch of looking and it seems advance simply has the wrong part listed. The radiator would work in a 66, but only a 4wd 66 that has the earlier style radiator core support. 66 and up 2wd require a different mount due to the flatter core support. I found this thread...

Re: Radiator mounting question on a 66?

I think my best bet is to return it to advance. So much for a great deal :(. So if I want a radiator to fit, what year should aim for? Am I needing a radiator for a 66? Reason I ask is I thought thats what I was buying, and still not totally sure if I understand whether I received the wrong part, or...

Re: Radiator mounting question on a 66?

So, can I make the new radiator I have work in my 66? I guess I am lost what I actually have, and what I need?

Edit, this a 352 v8 (original motor)

Radiator mounting question on a 66?

So I have a nice new 3 row radiator that is supposed to fit my 66, but the mounts look way off. I'm not sure if someone put a different core support in, or if I am just visualizing it wrong? Do I have the wrong radiator? It looks like the mount for the radiator in the truck is very far in front of t...

Re: Temp question 352 - is this too hot?

Did the thermostat today. Wanted to provide a follow up in case anyone is curious. With the 180 deg t-stat the gauge is nicely centered in the middle. I also confirmed the one that came out was a 196 degree stat. So thanks to everyone for suggesting that was the issue! Seems to run better too (I had...

Re: Radiator

There are multiple options and sizes for the 352. The best / largest is the 3 row. Not sure if the mounting is the same (though I notice summit lists it as compatible with the f250). Advance is running a nice deal (ends today) on the readyrad all metal 3 row, they already have the best price I can f...

Re: Temp question 352 - is this too hot?

So it has been a busy few weeks. Just getting back to this. I put a laser sight thermometer on the temp sender and it read 200 that is after driving light in town driving / traffic, then parking it in my driveway and idling. Reading different spots this is the hottest part, the water outlet itself w...

Re: Temp question 352 - is this too hot?

Perhaps I did bad job of describing whats going on. When I start out cold it warms up normally, the gauge varies between 60-70% while running, even in stop and go. The top hose gets good and hot, which should indicate a open thermostat. My primary concern is hot starts (like running to the store, co...

Re: Temp question 352 - is this too hot?

Thanks! A couple cracks but overall seems well kept, headliner was redone in some late 80s green foam. It is OK, but i'd like to go back to the stock one down the road. Not sure what I have engine wise, someone has obviously done a fair bit of engine work. The top hose gets nice and hot, bottom hose...

Re: Greetings

Thanks everyone for the kind words! Have been through the basic items, did plugs, rotor, cap, wires and a oil change. The cap and wires were pretty bad! Di-electric grease was obviously not used at all. https://scontent-b-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-frc3/t1.0-9/10296775_10101800298539260_55943575705845...

Temp question 352 - is this too hot?

So new to old vehicles and curious about the temperature gauge. Generally it stays around 60-70%. Is this normal for the truck? Seems to have a newer radiator. I did check the coolant level (added some), also burped the system with the cap off. The one thing that is odd is when I start the truck and...

Greetings

Greetings! Ended up buying a 66 f100 short box, 3.03 top loader, with some sort of FE motor. Never had anything this old before, but having fun so far! Looks like the motor was rebuilt at some point, but having trouble getting a sense of when or what I have. What I know is it has a edelbrock intake,...
