thanks for the directions Tom, had no idea they were on a supplier's website. I've got Dream Beams on mine, but I'll figure it out.

Re: 66 F100 Headers 4x4
after reading these replies I would favor the FPA's because of the testimony that they fit without modification and also because of the quality. Many of the inexpensive headers can't withstand the abuse in a 4 wheel drive application. i have some Hedman Elites and they are a very rugged header with ...

Wish I could help you with this one as I've got a brand new Hellwig sway bar and I hope to install it when it cools off (i'm in AZ desert). Best of luck getting some advice out there and if you do I hope you don't mind sharing it with me.

Very nice. Pretty much identical to mine but considerably nicer. I would hope it brings at least 15K.

Re: another 66 F250 @ Mecum 5/13
it's a shame Ford never offered a 9 inch limited slip (traction-lok) in the f100 or f250. That Dana 44 looks a bit spindly.

Re: Patina Revisited
I don't think I'm doing any paint work on my '37. It's getting new suspension all around, big disc brakes and a roller Ford small block but the body is staying as found. It's taken since 1937 to get it to look like that, it tells a story. It's this solid because it was parked in a garage in 1956. I...

Resembles the body on my truck, except the roof where mine has mysterious little rust bubbles above the drip edge.

My truck has had this very conversion done. It was originally a 3 speed column truck that's had a COM column installed to accommodate the 1969 C6 trans. If pics would help, let me know!

Re: Changing rear gears to accommodate 1st granny gear?
I've got the 3.25 gear with a C6 and the factory 352. It's the perfect gear in town and out on the freeway. Don't know the height of my rear tires offhand (275 60 15). I'd say either gear would be a good choice just don't expect the 3.25 to be considerably different than the 3.89.

Re: Changing rear gears to accommodate 1st granny gear?
It might be more effective to install a car application transmission to provide you a higher gear ratio. The problem with that approach is the Borg-Warner T-10's, Ford Toploaders and other four speeds can be expensive and not always easy to locate. The toploader is virtually bulletproof and offered ...

Re: The Price of Stuff
well guys, these price increases are just one of the reasons I don't spend much anymore on project vehicles anymore. Lots of things have quadrupled in the last 30 years. Then again, some of this Chinese stuff is surprising cheap sometimes. I remember being able to buy name brand oil for less than $1...

good way to keep us up to date on your collection, steve. that '37 just looks great the way it is. those headlights are beyond cool. can't understand why all the hype with the '32 other than the was the first year for the V8 (correct me if I'm wrong). those wheels on your slick are 'bad to the bone'

Re: Muffler Question??
Dan, I'm wondering how difficult duplicating the sound of 5.0 into a 352 (or any FE) would be. Imagine fitting the 5.0 exhaust on a 352, with headers of course, and comparing it for sound. I'd bet that it would still sound different given the differences between the two engines. I've got a new exhau...
