UH. Do I detect a Volvo 544 project lurking there. You didn't think we'd notice that did you. 8) Bwahahahaaaaaaaaaa I've considered that for years but haven't found a suitable donor car yet. Still want my 202 Comet, but I would compromise. Let me know how you're doing with that. Hot rod, or restora...

Keep in mid too that the 4cyl t-5 has the taller first and a lower overdrive. (1st is 3.97, not 2.95, and OD is .79, not .67)

Garage Lighting 101

Having finally moved into a house with a 2 car garage I was psyched, however working after dark was a bit of a problem because the garage only has one 60W lightbulb and the Garage door opener light to light it. (This pic is just the door opener so it could be about 2x this brighter but still really ...

Sweet 46! I have a 61 shorty out back that I really plan on doing as a copy of yours, but i might use the 4.6 if i get a complete donor. I think olive drab and a nice star and bar on the door would look cool, same rims and stance though! Plenty of shorties in Texas for some reason, seems like there...

Re: 1946 Ford Current Project (Not a Slick, or even a truck)

Deuce, nice job on the '46!!! The PO did some scary stuff to that chassis but looks like you're redeeming it quite well. I'm building a 37 Ford tudor humpback sedan w/302, T5, 9" rear. Glad to see you're putting a Ford in a Ford! Randy Yeah that motor I pulled out was a '68 302, with a complet...

Yeah it's funny, Actually the craigslist ad that's being used is a note I wrote for the guy who bought it from me. I figured I used so many parts from so many...

Yep, I did build that truck. and sold it too... Sadly I needed cash a while back. (Actually I wrote the whole description that keeps popping up on C-list too.) When I sold it there wasnt anything wrong with it. It needed a little more bodywork and paint on top of the epoxy primer. It had Some rot in...

I love the '58, I'm leaning towards a '57-60 for my next truck. That's after the '46 sedan gets done. Maybe I'll catch you at a cruise around town s...

Thanks all for the welcome, you've got a beautiful state, hot and humid, but beautiful. I'll refrain from talking politics, as that could open a whole 'nother conversation, which I like to keep separate from cars and trucks. I look forward to finding time to meet up with folks here as soon as I get ...

Hey Y'all I'm in Texas....

Yep, with the Vegas Design/Construction market being really slow, I was out of work for a while... anyway through whatever twists of fate my wife and I are relocating to Texas (Dallas area). I'm already here working, but about to head home and grab the rest of our stuff. And soon it looks like the w...

Brief Thanks.

I sold my slick 5 months ago, but just wanted to say thank you to the Slick60's community for alll the knowledge over the years. I still love this community and this site, as it provides a hugely different demographic and point of view than the "traditional" hotrod/resoration scene. Thanks...

Thanks for your comebacks. I will file this away incase I want to remove the 223 6th cyl engine one of these days. 514 hp out of 347 is almost unreal. Tooo much engine for an everday driver but could be fun in a lesser hp condition. Putting over 500HP out of a SBF requires a lot of inernal strenght...

Well with the wheels being too far in, you've got a lot of options for wheels. I think the factory wheels on an '88 would have no offset, probably 6" wide. you could run an 8" width with no offset and gain an inch, a lot of vintage style wheels like the torque thrust come with a number of ...

They are 1946 Fords, one has a '47 title, but Jan/Feb of 1947 they were still selling the '46 cars and titling them as '47s. They both have the '46 trim (ribbed stainless and the small bead around the windows) Although there appears to be some 47 sheet metal on the front of the #2 car (or they shave...

Call me Crazy...

...I sold my perfectly good running truck for project cars. I think I'm a glutton for punishment... But I got more for my Slick than I paid for the cars, so I have some cash to get started with! Now if I sell the Rambler, I'm really on my way. They are pretty solid.. no real rust, well preserved wit...
