Re: Repro Radiator Support Quality
I used one because my original was too far gone for me to fix. My truck is a 66 so i had to do some Mods to make it work. I'm sure the originals were better but sometimes you have to use what you can get.

Re: Dennis Carpenter, LMC, Flashback F100?
It would be interesting to know where all the parts come from. I have purchased parts from obsolete that came from Carolina classics and Dennis Carpenter. I mainly use them because they are close to home and yes sometimes customer service is not the best. Good at the store, not so good over the phone.

Re: Dennis Carpenter, LMC, Flashback F100?
I get my big parts from Obsolete in OK city because i live close and can drive to the store and not pay shipping. If you are in Colony Texas, that might be a good option for you. I think a lot of the parts come from the same places. I have had good luck with LMC and their shipping is very fast for m...

Turn signals on a 66
Do the turn signals on a 66 turn off automatically after a turn or do you have to manually turn them off? I have to turn mine off manually.

Re: Back on the road
I adjusted the timing to 12deg and did some idle screw adjustments today. Didn't seem to help. I increased the idle speed and now it will run with the choke almost completely open but the engine has a slight surge at idle. Vacuum fluctuates between 10 and 15 as engine surges.

Re: Back on the road
The gas tank is new. I will have to pick up a vacuum gauge tomorrow. What's a normal reading at the intake on a 352?

Back on the road
Need help! Got the 66 back on the road for the first time since 91. Rebuilt 352 stock 2 barrel (rebuilt). Pretty much everything has been replaced or rebuilt during restoration. The problem I'm having is after driving for a while she won't idle unless the choke is pulled out a ways. Runs good going ...

I have one but I never have any luck posting images on this site. Below is a link where you can find it. You'll just have to look around a little.

Re: Front Sheetmetal Fasteners
Lowe's has the course thread J-nuts. In the hardware section they have a cabinet or two with a lot of automotive stuff. I was surprised when the auto parts store didn't carry them and told me to check at Lowe's.

Don't forget cab mounts, bed corners below tail lights and bottom of tailgate. Mine is from central Ok and had rust in all these areas.

Re: Emblem removal
I just pried mine off on my 66. They snap into some kind of bushing in the holes. Not sure what the bushings are made of but I need to get some new one. Take your time and work them off evenly.

Re: ENGINE DIES WHEN YOU PRESS THE ACCEL. PEDAL
Hey Danny, did you repair something on your distributor or just replace it? My 66 is doing the same thing. Still has the original distributor in it. Idles good but when I punch it, it hesitates and wants to die. Accelerator pump seems to be working fine.

Re: New to the site with parts question
I use obsolete/classis auto in OK City quite a bit. I live 30 miles from their store so I just pick up parts at the store and don't have to pay shipping. They just don't always have everything I need. I had problems with their door seals and had to order from Dennis Carpenter anyway. All the other p...

I'm 50 and never got to drive it before I started to restore it. Will have to burn a little rubber when she's back together.

Clutch question
Getting ready to buy a new clutch for my 66. Pretty much stock freshly overhauled 352. Might upgrade to 4barrel and headers in the future. Is a stock clutch OK or should I upgrade to a performance clutch?
