1966 F-250 4x4 brake drum removal
I've searched but can't find an answer for this. On the front drums, if I remove the three large slotted screws, will the brake drum come off? If the screws won't come out, will some heat coax them without damaging anything else? Or do I need to remove the nut on the hub and take the drum and hub of...

Re: Duel Wheel dilemma
Thanks Ice. I don't want to cobble up another makers wheel, so I guess I'll take a ride soon.

Duel Wheel dilemma
My 65 F-350 duel wheel rear end has 5.87 gears in it and 16" lock ring wheels. To solve both problems I bought a 1977 rear with 4.10 gears. This rear had wheels on it but two of them were lock ring type and they were all fairly rusty. The seller had a small junk pile of wheels, so we looked thr...

Re: Parts interchangeability between 65 and 66
I got the truck home and can see things a little better now. Paul, it does have a 4 barrel carb on it. Of course that doesn't mean it's original to the truck. The driver who brought the truck to me told me where he thought the truck came from, and I know the family. Hopefully they can shed some ligh...

Re: Parts interchangeability between 65 and 66
Thanks again for all the great information. I'm sure I'll have a lot more questions when I get the truck home and can check it over better.

Re: Parts interchangeability between 65 and 66
Thanks for the reply Paul. The truck I was looking at was in an auction so I was keeping a low profile. I did buy it today. I still don't know much about it but it's not a 1966 F-250, it's a 1965 F-100 with probably 1966 front end on it. What else can people tell me about it? Is the extra fuel tank ...

Parts interchangeability between 65 and 66
I have a 1965 standard cab F-350. I'm looking at a 1966 Custom Cab junker. Will interior cab parts switch over to the 65? Specifically the straight line speedo dash. Other parts I want are the exterior trim pieces, deluxe door cards, side windows, and the V-8 and transmission that's in it. Even smal...

Re: Cab sheet metal alignment
I'll get under and take a look when it's a tad better weather. We had a dusting of global warming last night and the wind is really howling today.

Re: Cab sheet metal alignment
I didn't even think about the frame being bent.
I only hope it's bad cab mounts.
I know what you mean about leaving the battle scars, but those misaligned parts look more like a broken bone to me than a callous.

Cab sheet metal alignment
. . I was just looking at ezernut9mm's 66' and it was striking to me how nice his cab sheet metal fit. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67/rustorater/66%20Ford_zpsvrryqrbp.jpg Now my 65' looks like an old frumpy, saggy housewife in a worn out house coat. I know, the bad paint doesn't help much. Wha...

Re: A couple of 1965 F-350 questions
Thanks IM. A lot of information in that brochure. It brings another question. The brochure lists standard and optional tires as 17.5 inches.
My truck has 16" wheels. Are those not original?
Thanks, LL

A couple of 1965 F-350 questions
1) Were cab roof marker lights available on F-350s? An option? 2) My 350 has a dump body on it that is narrow by todays standards, only 77" wide. As seen in the pictures the bed is no wider than the cab. It does have little fender extensions welded on to cover the tires. If you look at a modern...

Tom, is a 67-79 rear end swap a bolt in switch? Any drive shaft mods?

Re: 1965 350 DRW Dump
Thanks guys. I'm in Norway, about an hour NW of Portland. Wow, I wouldn't have guessed 6800 lbs. That's more than I thought. 60 isn't too bad, still a little slow for the interstate. The truck is in pretty good shape. It does look it's best from about 15 feet away. Note the creative use of Bituthene...

1965 350 DRW Dump
Hello, my first post here and I've got a million questions, but I'll start with just one. The "350" is missing from both my side name plates as seen in the first picture. Would it have had them originally? I got the Dennis Carpenter catalog and they have them with a red background. My truc...
