Re: 1962 Unibody build

It's been a while since I've been on here. Been busy building the engine for this unibody. It's a 302 bored .030, Procomp heads, Erson camshaft, Erson roller rockers and the Edelbrock Enduroshine Intake and 600cfm Carb. The color is a GM called cashmere. It's what the other half of the truck will be...

Re: 1965 F-100 460 BBF build

I went through the old speedo gauge and cleaned everything up and repaired the lights to work. Covered the idiot lights and repaired the high beam light and covered it with a green tint cover. Replaced the dome light as well.

Re: 1965 F-100 460 BBF build

I've been able to get some work done in the last two weeks since the cab was painted. Most of the interior is in and I replaced the wiring harness. Cleaning and painted small pieces here and there. Hoping to get the bumpers and grill painted Friday. I still have the bed to get bodyworked and painted...

Re: 1965 F-100 460 BBF build

Thanks on your comment about our paint and bodywork. My truck when's its painted won't be quite as nice as the other vehicles we've done. I just want a driver. That Jaguar we did has a 600+HP LS3 in it along with C5 corvette brakes and suspension. The owner is going to autocross with it. As far as t...

i decided to sell the Cragars and tires I had and go with some steel wheels with hubcaps and trim rings. I like this better. Also got the bumpers and grill painted. Added new carpet and headliner to interior.

Re: 1962 Unibody build

Also mocked up the steering column. The Dakota front end puts the steering shaft at a much different place from the stock box and unit. Using a 67 Camaro column from the junk pile in the back. We'll buy a unit from Speedway Motors that's paint able and has a tilt column for the actual one.

Re: 1962 Unibody build

I mocked up the motor and installed the transmission cross member and built the lower motor mount to the frame. getting close to sending the transmission out for the rebuild and putting the rest of the motor together. the one...

Had a chance to do some work today. I filled in the fuel tank filler hole. Filled in 37 holes on the firewall and the antenna hole. Almost time for some rough in bodywork.

Re: 1962 Unibody build

Had a chance this last weekend to do some metal work to the Unibody. I replaced the bed end caps. Originals were so beat up they were unusable. I chopped off a set of nice ones from the 62 unibody long bed I had as a parts truck.

Re: 1965 F-100 460 BBF build

found some F-100 fender emblems along with a pair of Camaro side mirrors. Hey, they were free. I need to finish the paint and body on my wifes 62" Unibody before I can start on mine. At least we can enjoy riding in this one until her's is done. Thinking about Ford Azure Blue for this truck.

Re: 1965 F-100 460 BBF build

After getting it running, all the bugs worked out and building an exhuast system, I've been driving it to work 24 miles round trip. Has done great so far. passes everything on the road but a gas station. Rear bumper came off, planning on a roll pan when it comes time for paint and bodywork.
