Re: f250 spring install
Looking good, PackRat! When I owned my '63, I added used & extra leaf springs at the rear with success. I also would recommend new U-bolts when possible. I would also recommend adding some leaf spring alignment clamps. Here is a good instruction and depiction of them. http://www.jegs.com/Install...

Re: CR Lawerence slider rear window - Anyone?
This is a poor pic of Dale's LMC slider. See how unobtrusive the lower track appears from outside. http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/ff437/ToyzinTexas/Mobile%20Uploads/2015-10/EB77250C-6773-434D-8518-189EDA850E67.jpg Paul I like the looks of that window! :thumright: Thanks for sharing, Paul! :not...

WELL -- Looks like getting the Warranty Data Plate info from everyone may not be feasible or do-able. Maybe we can simply compile the members with or have had Slicks with OE padded dashes by model year? WHAT MODEL YEAR SLICKS DID YOU/ DO YOU HAVE WITH AN OE PADDED DASH? Re: Pls Post: ANY & ALL Slicks with FoMoCo Padded Dash
BarnieTRK, I thought I posted the info; guess I didn't! Orange truck is my '63 F350 tow truck. People ASSume it is a '66 since it has a '66 grille. It IS a low cab '63 by both cab and frame numbers, but warranty plate is incorrect for the vehicle and covered by a NE "assigned number" plat...

Re: Pls Post: ANY & ALL Slicks with FoMoCo Padded Dash
Paul,
I take it the orange Slick is a '66?
If so, that as I count 'em, you own or have owned 1 - '65 and 1 - '66 with an OE padded dash, correct?

Re: CR Lawerence slider rear window - Anyone?
Thanks, Paul. I'll have to check out what LMC offers for a window. Any idea/guess as to how long your friend has had the window installed? How long have you had yours in? Other than the 'highly visibly slider track', do you or he have any complaints? Any pics of yours or his installed rear slider wi...

Re: Pls Post: ANY & ALL Slicks with FoMoCo Padded Dash
every 66 I have bought, stolen, or o/w procured has had a padded dash. I bought a 65 from a salvage yard o/s of great bend ks that had a padded dash. that is the only 65 that I have bought that had a padded dash. I still have the truck and have since stripped the badly cracked padded dash off and p...

Re: Dash paint color codes
My uncle had a 1962 with a padded dash. The truck was two tone black and white with a black padded dash. It also had the big wrap around rear window. Nice looking truck, I learned to drive in it. Now you know how I got here. VERY cool, Jim! Thanks for sharing that information! Just for the record, ...

Pls Post: ANY & ALL Slicks with FoMoCo Padded Dash
Fellow Slick fans: I'm thinking it may be interesting to build a "TALLY" from our Slick60s site members those that have/have had Slicks outfitted with an apparent OEM dash pads. I'm thinking an interesting listing would include: model year, F-series, color dash pad, paint code and what was...

Re: engine carnage with pics update 3-24
I wouldn't be so sure that ALL 292 or 390 blocks could go 0.090" overbore safety. The issue is core shift during production + thin wall casting = high risk for overheating if going more than 0.040" overbore. ICEMAN, I realize you likely are not planning on trying to "race" your 2...

Re: 66 F250 project
I talked to a machinist earlier this week about some other work, I'll call him and see what the head work would cost. I'm hoping to have a spare 390 rebuilt eventually to replace my 352, so if the heads from a 69' truck 390 flow better than my 352, does it make more sense to get them reworked, rath...

Re: Finally, some progress.
Corey, How has your progress been going? Regarding your earlier questions: I'm not real sure that the geometry of your OE brake pedal would work well with the power disc brake setup from the '78. I wouldn't assume, I'd ask around to be sure it'll work. Same goes with the speedo cable..... not sure, ...
