Re: ebay prices what are they smoking????

Definitely appreciate what you do. Without guys like you there would be a lot less trucks rolling down the road. In my area we never find any of these trucks in a yard. Crushed and gone. I noticed a door was listed on evil bay for $800.00 .....maybe I'm missing something. If they get that price more...

ebay prices what are they smoking????

So I have listed some items for sale that I feel is a fair price to ford truck enthusiast like me. Of course curiosity got the best of me and I looked on e bay to see what people were asking for price wise with parts. Folks Im here to tell ya that is some deep BS pricing. Not that I am going to chan...

Re: truck "wanders" when driving

I think I have an answer: recheck all tie rod and drag link fittings. Had this happen to mine and thought it was the original steering box everything underneath was new when frame off was completed. Found that the tie rods were nice and tight except the drag link connected to the steering arm was lo...

Re: 1/12/15-A bad day.....

You have a really cool truck dent or no dent. I know your bummed out about the fender but you know its awesome that you drive and use this truck like it was meant to be used. I dont have a good spare fender at this time but I will keep my eye out for a good strait fender. I live down in Northwest Ar...

Re: Junk yard idiots

The worst I ever came across was a the torch monkey. :cussing: Some guy had cut yes cut and I mean cut the whole front end off of a truck to get to a core support. Cut through perfect inner/outer fenders wires everything that was in his way. The second worst was the torch monkey that cut a perfect s...

Re: Need your opinion PLEASE!

Appreciate the input guys. I did a fairly extensive frame off restoration a few years ago that was a sentimental thing. Unfortunately it sets in the garage under a tarp and goes to a car show a few times a year. You can see pics of it in my profile/gallery. I really do think that keeping the blue lo...

Need your opinion PLEASE!

About 3 years ago I purchased a 1966 ford f100 custom cab. Truck is 100% original with title. It has a 352 and a water cooled automatic transmission. Truck was a one owner and had 40 thousand miles on it. The owner purchased the truck when he retired in 1965. I have some really neat documentation re...

Re: Very blue 66 project swap

Very nice!! I did a frame off on a 66 long bed. Sets in the garage with a tarp on it and gets taken to a car show every so often. Waste of a good truck. Sooo I acquired a 66 short bed and want to make it a driver. Your tires are awesome!! Will you need to make any mods to the bed or tubs for those s...

Re: Choosing a slick that will run with modern traffic

On my restored 66 I have a 240 engine three on the column with 3:50 gears. I sometimes run 50 and sometimes 70. It runs great either way. Sat I drove 130 miles to a car show and back at 70. My other 66 is non restored 100% original with 47000 original miles has a 352 with 3.50 gears. I run it 70 as ...

Re: too much stuff.

I thought you had taken a picture of my garage. I finally had to box and label the plastic tubs with my treasure. Then of course i stacked them against the wall and acquired more stuff. Look at it this way, you are not a hoarder of parts for one of the best trucks ever made actually you are preserva...

Re: Need seat ukpholstry information .

My customer service exp with SMS was terrible. This WAS a few years ago and I hope it has changed but be aware. They were quick to charge my card and it took numerous phone calls and about 3 to 4 months to recv the product. Was shortchanged fabric as well. On the plus side they did have the OEM orig...

Re: paint

went through this delima when I restored mine. My truck was ordered with a 5M code. This was a mustang color called signal flare red. It looks like poppy red in the truck color card. I had several people tell me that the only color you could get was rangoon red in these 1966 trucks. This was a senti...

Re: TAKING THE ANODIZE OFF THE CHROME TRIM

You can look in my gallery at my grill on my red/white restored 66. I did all the side trim as well but in the end I went ahead and purchased new side trim cause of small dings and dents. Headlight and tailight bezels as well. Take a wall paper tray and lay the trim in the tray. Spray with oven clea...

Re: Front bumper

I used a 2x4 as shims from my mount holes to frame on my back bumper and it worked great. Does a 67 to mid 70 bumper fit the front or are the holes off like the rear bumpers? Have a local U pull it with a few really nice chrome early 70 bumper I would like to use.

Re: Getting harder to find

Well I guess I'm not losing my mind. I tell ya I counted 16 different car shows on cable tv. I figure between the steel prices and car shows these cheap ole trucks aren't cheap anymore. Enjoy them know because its my opinion the price of a good truck is going to only continue to go up.

Getting harder to find

Dont know about your neck of the woods but these trucks are getting more difficult to find. If you do find a good parts truck its either rusted beyond use or they want an arm and a leg for the thing. 10 years ago you could throw a rock and hit a truck from any direction. The last 5 years they seem t...

302 engine install question

For those that have done this conversion a few questions> did you have to relocate the engine perches? If you did how was it done and how far forward or back were they moved? Were you able to use the existing perches or did you get them out of a donor?
Truck currently has a 352.
Thx.

cruise o matic to c 6 question

Planning to stay with the long bed for a driver rebuild, but I want to replace cruise o automatic trans with a c 6. I understand that a drive shaft adjustment and cross member will need to be done. My question is: I have a green dot rebuilt steering column works great. Will I have to change the colu...
