Re: 73' I-Beam Question

The steering bump stops must have been removed when I got the beams because they are not there now. Another interesting thing is that the holes where the bump stops should mount on the 73' beams are not tapped, but just through holes instead...

73' I-Beam Question

I am finally getting around to doing a disk brake swap in my '66 f100 using 73' suspension and brake parts. So far everything has gone pretty smoothly. I got all the suspension parts sandblasted and painted, got new king pin bushings installed and reamed, ordered all the new bushings, and I am ready...

Aftermarket wiring harnesses-EZ Wiring vs. American Autowire

So, I am pretty new to this whole wiring thing, and it is time to replace the harness in my truck. I have read on this forum that a lot of people have been using the EZ wiring kits with good success. My only concern is with my level of experience and the level of instruction that comes with the kit....

Thanks for all the replies and sorry for not getting back sooner. All is well, the main problem turned out to be some corroded points, and some junk in the carburetor from sitting for almost six months. I did not even think to check out the distributor when I was trying to figure out what was going ...

Help!

I drove my truck into town this evening and it seemed to be running great. Parked it for 30-45 minutes, then got into it to drive home and when I started it back up it was running very rough. It would still idle, but again very rough, and when I rev the engine I sounds almost like it is sucking a lo...

I am talking about the phillips screws. Are they a #6-40? I have some #6-32 that look to be the right size, but they don't thread in.

I was being so careful and the driver's side was perfect. The passenger side I drilled a 1/4" pilot. Then when I drilled the half inch hole, the drill bit caught as it was going through the final bit of metal and screw itself in and dinged the cab. I'm pretty pissed. The thing is, I knew bette...

Painting a steering wheel

Looking for suggestions on what kind of paint/correct process for painting a steering wheel. Mine is in excellent shape, but it the wrong color. I think I will end up painting it black, but am not sure on what kind of paint would adhere best and would hold up well?

Thanks

Might be a dumb question, but I don't remember a instrument panel seal when I took my cluster out.. Where does it go? Between the instrument panel and the dash? What is the purpose?
