Grabber, the main advantage of the hydro-boost in the hot-rod market is for a radically cammed or blown engine which doesn't make enough vacuum to run a vac brake booster.

I was thinking about buying one of those FM converters they sell on EGAY. I used one on my 442 in High School and it worked fine. Any reason it wouldn't for the F100s? Best I can remember is around 25 bux. ezrodder (Steve) 48 Poncho (on the HAMB) FM converters work fine with any automotive AM radio...

Cool...I like the theme of your truck.

Keep an eye out for leaks. Gasoline will eventually break down the JB Weld. I patched a jeep tank with it years ago... Worked for a few months.

Why you changing them out? Sell me your old ones if they're in good shape.

I dont like chops if you can tell they were chopped, it has to flow w/the lines of the truck. I was thinking along the lines of 2" as well. I like people going "is it?" It has to look like it grew there. As soon as I find a roof, and I'll let you know!!! I agree... On a truck (anythi...

Typically, I'd say that I prefer these trucks lowered... But your truck with those wheels/tires has a killer '60's stance that is period correct.

I think it looks awesome!

Man that sucks... Classics in the crusher. Insane1... We think alike. Wish mine had the big window too. How hard are our trucks to do a 2" chop? I've seen one with 3" and it's a little out of proportion for my taste. I'm asking because I was thinking that you did custom body work at your s...

It's going to be quick as hell, but you won't want to run up and down the highway much. Using as tall of a rear tire as you can will help top end speed some... Traction too. I had a 71 LWB F100 with a 70 Thunderjet, and it was very much a street sleeper. I ran 3.90 gears and 35" tires. Doesn't ...

Nice truck to start with :thumright: shame it has a 63 grill IMO, I like the '61s I was under the impression that the chrome grill in my Uni was a 62?... Anyway... I got the original '61 painted grill with it. It's very straight. Looked at it closely earlier this evening. The closer I look at this ...

Traction Lock is not a generic term for a Ford limited slip. Ford has offered several different limited slips and used different names for them. Traction Lock and Equa Lock are just the two most common. Hawkrod Were they really that much different? Or did Ford's marketing dpt. just play with differ...

My experiences with mis-matched parts have been in engine parts. Like a vehicle that was ordered with a std 429 4V showing up with a CJ intake/carb on it. My '98 Explorer's 5.0 engine was replaced under warranty with a 2000 spec engine which was pulled straight from the assembly plant because a '98 ...

I would think it really odd that a shortbed would have a D60 originally, but sccording to your door tag, the B5 axle code makes it a 4:10 ratio...definitely sounds like a D60 ratio. 4.10 : 1 is also a common 9" gear ratio. The D60 would be unusual in a short bed , but anything is possible. Som...

If I had two rears setting on the ground that would fit my truck... One a 9", the other a Dana60, I'd use the 9" because the Dana 60 is overkill, heavy and absorbes a little more h.p. than the 9". If my truck already had the Dana in it, and I was happy with the gear ratio etc... I'd l...

First post...My 61 Uni project.

I've been eyeballing this truck at a friend's shop for 3 years and finally talked him into selling it to me. It's really solid, with only surface rust. No engine/trans, but I've got a 460 / C6 combo in the works for it. The stock drums have been recently rebuilt, but will convert to front discs. I'm...
