Generator light on?

So the generator light went on tonight when I turned off the ignition of my '64 with a 223. The light stayed on until I pulled the negative cable off of the battery. Slight electrical smell under the hood. Any ideas?

Thanks

I have been through three fuel pumps, three generators, three regulators, two sets of brakes ,replumbed the fuel system plus many smaller items. Thats what keeps life interesting.

what's on your floor

I have the original floor/firewall covering in my 64 and it is starting to show its age. Anybody have any creative ideas for replacement? Anybody use colored bedliner inside their truck?

Headers for 223

I am running a stock (rebuilt) 223 and am thinking about going to dual exaust, possibly upgrading the intake and carb at the same time. Anybody using the setup available from Clifford? Any suggestions?

This is great encouragement and so true. And goes to show why these trucks are so great because you can figure it out and fix it yourself. I will never forget many years ago working on an H.D. shovelhead, getting so stoked to have figured out a problem only to go to the dealer and be told that they ...

My daughter is now three and has been riding shotgun daily in my 64 since she was a week old. Soon she needs to switch to one of those booster seats and that seems more difficult, the other seats work with just lap belts but now I need a shoulder or maybe even a harness on her side? Still working th...

I did not like my proximity to the steering wheel in my '64 either so I pulled the bench and removed the slides from the bottom. I then bolted the seat frame directly back to the floor. Got me down about 2" and back about the same. Much better but when I get around to moving the gas tank the se...

So on the 223 in my 64 I have replaced the fuel pump three times in two years because they start leaking oil. Anybody else have this problem or know of a good alternative or upgrade?
