Lookin good. I'm following this one close as I'm building one real similar. (64 on a 79 4x4 chassis) What size tires are you running, and is it sitting at stock height or is there a bit of lift?
Thanx! 2/20/12

F-100 Nats and pix of slicks.
Turn-out seemed pretty light this year, especially after considering they opened it up to Ford cars too. Probably a combination of the lousy economy and fuel prices. I put a few pictures in my gallery of some of the Slicks there.

That stuff is amazing isn't it? It's hard to believe it flows out that way, but it sure does.

64 engine swap
The crossmember was just in the way, big time. It's been a long time, but I think the problem was that the tranny would be REAL hard to pull later, if need be. And the C-4 is a pretty small tranny. As far as the drive shaft went: I put in a one piece from a big Chrysler Newport (I think) Mid 70's. L...

Universal mounts
I used a very simular Trans-Dapt adapter on my 64 years ago. Put a 302/C-4 in it. Worked like a charm. You do have to remove that crossmember behind the engine though. It really gets in the way.

Slick A/C?
If you don't mind a "hang on", the early Mustang units fit real nice and are a lot cheaper that a complete "system" from anybody . I had an extra 66 Mustang unit from "back in the day" and stuck it in my 64. There were even holes under the lip of the dash that lined up ...

351m/400 potential ?
I know I'll catch heat for this, but the 335 series is much maligned by many. They respond well to most upgrades and make decent power. A lot of people speak of them being dogs due to the fact they were "detuned" for emmisions. What that amounts to for the most part is the pitiful cam and ...

These guys sell a whole kit or you can just buy the solution and make up a batch. It lasts virtually forever. I have some in jugs that's probably 5 years old or better. It can be used over and over again and produces consistent results every time. For 12 bucks why fool around with making your own? G...

New F-100 show in Pigeon Forge
Alan, I know what you mean. Same situation with us this year in Knoxville. We stayed in the Pigeon Forge area and drove into Knoxville for the show. Kind of a pain, but there's so much to do closer to PF and Gatlinburg for the rest of the family. I like Knoxville and have friends and family in that ...

Here's a link to a picture that shows the difference. I went the opposite way that you describe, (64 cab on later chassis) but the front mounts still have to be dealt with. The left mount is the 79, the other is a modified 64.
