Re: Steering wheel swap
Ok, thanks John. I haven't moved the steering column or anything. The truck is all stock and other than being restored by me, it's a survivor and untouched. So I don't know if I'd even do the steering wheel swap, but it's nice to know that it can be done without swapping the column.

Re: Steering wheel swap
will be like using a cheater pipe on a ratchet, easier to turn the wheel. if you dont have power steering it will be like poor mans p.s. Yeah, I get that....which actually is better for me, I could use a poor man's power steering...because I refuse to put PS on my truck. I'm talking about in ...

Re: Steering wheel swap
omg... I have one of those 4 spoke wheels! Haha... I found it on CL and snatched it up for like $40. When he handed it to me, I was like, "holy cow, this thing is HEAVY." Then I posted on the FB group and found out that it's so different, different column 250 4x4 blah blah blah and thought...

Dennis Carpenter's stuff is high priced... but you get what you pay for. Every experience I've had with them has been top notch. I got the complete kit to rebuild my doors.

I'm planning to get there by 8:00. It does not start officially until 9:00. In past years I've been there by 8:30 and that was not usually early enough for a spot by shade. 8:00 may not be early enough, but I want as much sleep as I can get. You park in a shady spot with a good chair and you can ca...

That's where mine are, straight down. But its because with the windows down, the window crank is straight down as well. So they're both straight up and down. I'm OCD like that.

I just don't see how somebody takes on such a HUGE project as that and doesn't lose interest. He had me until he cut up the dash and stuck that new one in there. There was a guy that did basically the same exact thing with a 78/79 Bronco and a newer F150, grafted in the new dash and all that. Whatev...

Its called a turn signal cam, you can pick it up in the "help" section of your local parts house. Its relatively easy to replace... the hardest part is pulling the steering wheel.

There's really a much, MUCH simpler way if you can't remember all that wet or dry intake business.... Valve cover bolts. Know these numbers, remember these numbers... 2 bolts: 239/256/272/292/312 (produced from 1954 to 1964) 5 bolts: 332/352/360/361/390/391/406/410/427/428 (FE engine) 6 bolts: 221/2...

I'll have to dig around for the link, or you may be able to find it on their site, but O'Reillys has a flux capacitor and plutonium listed on their site.

yeah, and timesert inserts took care of that for far less than head replacements. bang for bucks i would own a 99 or 00 lightning with all the recalls already done. the str 10 has more hp, but the 6speed is weak like glass and the launch window is as big as a dime. l's smoke those pigs all day long...

That's nice, I just don't care for that upper valance without the parking lights in it... it reminds me too much of a Chevy thing.
