Re: New brake lines to dual MC

I just noticed you made no mention of a disc brake conversion... Scratch almost everything I said. You need a distribution block from a Bumpside. It will still run the same a proportioning valve though. From the master cylinder to the block twice, from the block to the left front, from the block to ...

Re: New brake lines to dual MC

Thanks for the info. I figured I would have to run them basically the same as stock, but the rear line would have to bypass the original junction and run straight to the MC. The front would run from the front junction block to the MC. Is this the correct idea? Seems too easy Nope; the picture in th...

Re: New brake lines to dual MC

I just finished doing this. Basically I just followed the old lines. I bought a bracket from amazon to mount the proportioning valve directly under the master cylinder, https://www.amazon.com/Allstar-Performance-ALL41045-Combination-Horizontal/dp/B00JPBDKCK , I ran the rear out of the back and the f...

Re: Alignment Rant

Well, it's a heck of a commute, but here's a shop that might be able to get you squared away. See fourth post..... http://www.slick60s.com/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=24343 You got that heck of a commute right. I talked to my Uncle in Arrrrr-Kansas, he told me to do it myself. I bought the plates and ...

Alignment Rant

So I go to a local shop this morning to have a couple of tires mounted and inquire about an alignment. The guy at the counter tells me that their cost is $89, which is about normal for the Austin area, but I was trying to keep it in a small shop's pocket. He told me he'd have to get with his shop ma...

It's changed a bunch already. I think you should be able to click one of my pics and get to the photobucket, pretty sure it's public now (if I did it right)! Don't want to muddy up the forum with all my junk.

Greetings from Texas...

Thanks again for the add to the group. I posted in the Southwest Region section yesterday. Nothing special about me, just a father of 3 trying to keep looking down on the flowers. Grew up around my Uncle and his 65, and in 1994 I bought a 62 Uni, I kept it until ~1998 when my son was going to be; pr...

I'm actually in Austin (Oak Hill). My mom and brother live in Bastrop, so I know where you are. My sister-in-law works at the Roadhouse on 21, so we are out that way a bunch.

New Guy From Texas

New to the site, but not to the trucks.... I come from a long line of Ford lovers. I bought my 1st Slick in 1995, it was a 62 Unibody; which I had to sell when my son came along. I did a ton of work to that thing on less than a beer budget, most of which there is no way I would do now. That's where ...
