Re: My new Slick is here!

Thanks guys. Will definitely be at Pate Toyz, and will not leave until I've met as many members as I can. KoolKatt, love the tailgate but I haven't put it on yet. Will look for a seat at Pate, if no luck I am considering tackling a seat reupholster myself as I have been studying it. Trying to figure...

Re: 292 Dipstick tube woes

Yes. Your pan has a tube coming out of it that I thought was what you were referring to. If mine has that I haven't seen it yet. At first I thought that's where you were saying your tube was. My bad lol

Re: 292 Dipstick tube woes

Those pics make it look like the tube goes into the oil pan through the oil pan. My pan doesn't have a loop like that on the outside that I saw.

Re: 292 Dipstick tube woes

It does go to the pan. I placed the stick itself in there t see and got oil. I may remove the header cause it needs repainted anyway. 'll try a mallet if it doesnt slid in.

Re: 292 Dipstick tube woes

See I would agree, but I cant seem to get them to line up even. I at first thought it might not be in far enough but the tube doesn't fit in well.

292 Dipstick tube woes

Ok, when I bought my Slick the previous owner for some reason did not have the dipstick tube/stick in the engine. I emailed him and he said he'd put it in the mail, no problems. But i am having a hard time getting it in. I've posted some pics. Is the tube supposed to go in all the way to the lip? Fo...

I hate asking dumb questions but....

I hate asking questions like this but I was looking for the oil dipstick on my 61 and couldn't find it. Emailed the previous owner and he said that he had taken the stick and tube out and forgot to put it back. Will go in the mail today. Problem is I can't seem to find where it goes. 61 292. Anyone ...

Also, will a bench seat from the 70s bolt into these trucks? Got a lot of good looking 70s bench seat around me.

Re: My new Slick is here!

I agree with BH. Im planning on making this a fun driver. Not so much daily, but fun. I have considered moving the gas tank to the back but not sure how that works with a Uni. Hard t work here in the winter so the first thing I'll probably start with is dressing up the interior. What do you guys use...

Re: My new Slick is here!

As of now I don't plan to paint. I'd like to patch up the bed and clean up the interior. I want to make it a good looking truco while enjoying it as well. I did find a shift knob. What is used to fix the surface rust in the interior? Places like the dash and glove box lid. I would like to get a bett...

My new Slick is here!

Arrived today. 1961 Uni. So happy to once again be a proud owner of a Slick. Trucks a little weather beaten, but does run and drive. Thrilled to get to work! Pictures below, hope they turn out right. http://i1038.photobucket.com/albums/a463/SgtRoche/Dukes%2061%20Ford%20Unibody%20Slick/DSCF1368_zpsze...

Re: ok need some help

I am not the subject expert on this, but I do know that a lot of people use this kit. Ive never done it myself. Generally I stay away from additives for the exception of the Lucas Oil treatment. Here is the kit http://www.amazon.com/Prestone-AF-KIT-Flush-Fill-Kit/dp/B000CCFY5W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&...

Re: Dog Dish hubcaps

I don't actually have one yet. I was just curious. My old 64 had innies on the front and outies in the back. I didn't know if the caps looked the same and just fit on the wheel differently or if there were different styles all together.

Re: Dog Dish hubcaps

I know the front ones usually have the bottle cap style hubcaps. Not sure if the front and back used the same size cap. I just didn't know if the bottle caps were the only ones used or not.
