Ya, I wish I knew what it came off of but I don't. All I know is it's very straight, no rust through at all, just a little surface rust. One small dent at the top in the middle otherwise this thing's a 9 out of 10. I'll put it in the for sale section, and if anyone wants some pix, just PM me and I'l...

Mercury tailgate??
Does anybody know how many years of trucks a Merc. stepside tailgate fit? I'm trying to ebay this for a friend but need to know the years it fits (approx.) It looks the same as a 65 Ford step tailgate, except of course, it has Mercury stamped on it.

Thanks cdherman for the info. Unfortunately, the carb that was on the truck was not the original and had been jimmied on there. Oil bath air cleaner wouldn't fit properly, etc.... so it was not an option for rebuild. Not an Autolite 1101. Also, Kid, that's the reason I replaced the old carb is the f...

I have to hold my foot to the floor and it still winds over for awhile before it starts. If I don't put ...

Rustproofing cab mounts
I was going to remove the inspection plates on my 66 front cab mounts and maybe clean out what I find hiding in there. Then I thought, instead of spraying or coating the inside with undercoating, why not just liberally apply some heavy bearing grease all over the inside of the mount. From what I kno...

Will my 3 speed clutch fit a 4 speed trans..
Hey, I've got a clutch coming in for my 66 F100, 240, 3sp.but I am lookin g at the option of putting a 4 speed in from a 66 F100 to get a few more mph. Reason being, I live on an acerage and to get anywhere I have to take highways that have 70 mph speed limits and single lanes. Having a somewhat tir...
