Does anybody know how many years of trucks a Merc. stepside tailgate fit? I'm trying to ebay this for a friend but need to know the years it fits (approx.) It looks the same as a 65 Ford step tailgate, except of course, it has Mercury stamped on it.

Are those items available at regular parts stores, or are they specialty items from an autobody paint store or somewhere like that?? Being in Canuckland, not too many options for parts stores. By the way, took the plates off them tonight, about 3 inches of crud in each one. Not wet though.
