Re: just because you can
The porportions dont look right. Front wheels need to be further forward. The bed is too low, especially with a back window that makes the back of the cab looked chopped but from the side it doesnt. That said.. the paint looks top notch.. not my cup o tea but still looks top notch. the engine compar...

Re: FNG from Deer Park, Wa
Well after talking to some people who are familiar with my truck, guess it has some local history. Vic (hiboy63)'s son John, looked at the truck in 2012 when it was being sold in Troy, Id. The truck was owned by a Mr. And Mrs. Flomer, they either moved to Moscow, Id in 1972 or bought the truck in 19...

Re: Truck names?
Brian,
That's cool. How'd you make those? I want to make some that say short bus..
The history of my truck is it was restored by a guy that ran the bus barn in a small farm town.
Which would explain why its school bus yellow and has international mirrors on it.

Re: 352 fe normal oil pressure
I have no idea what oil is in it. It was fresh oil when I bought it. I'm not a fan of 10w-40. Because its more additives than oil. Let me explain or at least try to. Oil companies take 10 weight oil and add additives to make it dual blend along with detergents etc. For example lets say 10w-30 is 3 p...

Re: 352 fe normal oil pressure
Today was weird it was one of our warmer days, almost 90* and today it never came off of 30psi. Even idling at a long stop light, it stayed at 30. Now today I also had a hard time starting it when warm.. acted like it was flooded. Plus I smell gas. Could be because I'm sitting in front of the tank. ...

Re: maybe i'm missing something...
Mac's sells that gear in nylon.
I'd go get a new gear.. you can order one or hit the wrecking yard and pull a bunch from 70's pickups. You should be able to find about 3 different tooth count gears from the pickups..

Yep.
The gear you have looks like the 46 to 63 gear..
But the cable you have should use the gear in the second post.

Re: maybe i'm missing something...
I don't think you have the correct gear for that cable... or vise versa..
That cable looks like it takes the same gear as my falcon does..
The gear you have doesn't look the same as the ones I'm used to seeing.

Re: FNG from Deer Park, Wa
Got bored one afternoon and repainted the hood emblem. Figured out my heater problem, some either installed the heater control valve in backwards or its the wrong one. Knob has to be pulled out to close the valve.. now the truck isn't so miserable to drive in the 90* weather we have. Found some nice...

Re: Charging issue solved
Paul,
Will a ford 3g work with a ammeter and idiot light?
I don't understand why some one would convert a ford alt to a gm 1 wire and us a 60 amp gm alt? What's the point?
Just get a ford 60 amp alt and use the wiring that is already there..
If a 3 g will work then I'll go get one.

Re: Charging issue solved
I have the round speedo with alt light in it. the alt light doesnt work though the bulb is good. About as far as I wanted to test at this point. It appears the alt is wired to isolater. ammeter appears to be wire to the isolater also. The p.o. wired a battery cut off switch under the dash, it appear...

Re: Charging issue solved
Will the amp meter still work with the alternator wired directly to the solenoid? I ask because my truck has been converted to a gm one wire alternator. I'll change it to a 3g ford unit if and when the time comes. For now I'll use what I have. My charging lead from the alternator appears to be hooke...

Re: New Floormat for my 65
That's a bummer that the lmc mat cracked in three years.
Do you know if that was the regular mat or their heavier unit?
Is obsolete still around? 13 years is ok by me.
I'll check with Tom.
