Re: OH MY GAWD!!!!
IMO the factory dash is one of the most aesthetically pleasing aspects of the slick series vehicles, and that guy(or gal) really screwed it up. Also red and maroon don't go together as demonstarted by the interior of this vehicle. The custom dash makes this trucks interior discusting. If the owner i...

Re: Cab Repair Sequence of Events - or, Did I mess up?
Pbly no right or wrong way to do it. When i did my 4x4 I knew my cab was already sprung because none of the doors would shut. Did the repairs cab on frame. My order of repair went: 1. Did both sides front A and B pillars. Made them xtra long so i could cut off what i didn't need later. 2. Put a jack...

Re: just curious, what is this?
These transmissions were borg warner equipped overdrives. As mentioned these had governors and selenoids. The R11 designation means it is a heavy duty, and most likely used with a big block originally. If in good working condition, then price is good, if not then you have a serious problem. I think...

just curious, what is this?
listed as an "overdrive" transmission. dumb question i suppose but does this thing have an xtra highway gear or something? or is it just a standard tranny with a impressive name, kinda like a 79 "cobra" mustang.

Re: Gasohol..........
Sorry but I blame the guys making a killing on it before the green freaks. Huge agri business, corn subsidies ect. They get away with murder in the name of the small farmer, trying to make a living. Brazil went to ethanol a while ago, but did not dstroy a food crop to do so. i own a small farm in t...

Re: Decisions?
We have planned well and unless the good old USA gets nuked or we end up fighting a civil war over class warfare, we are pretty much taken care of. Ive always feared taxes more than the Ruskies. Now its the liberals. yeah the current push toward socialism from the far left is alarming. in my area i...

Re: my gas gauge quit.
it's really luck of the draw with auto parts counter employees. i called 3 or 4 parts stores and of coarse no one carried something that far back even though i'm sure ford made the same float for various vehicles for several years. ended up taking the float off a trashed sending unit i had from my 6...

my gas gauge quit.
filled it up and the gauge stayed on empty so i took the unit out of the tank. shook the float and it's got fluid in it but can't find any holes in the float. am i correct in assuming there shouldn't be any fluid in there(don't know why there would be but ya never know) and i just need a new float. ...

Re: What made you do it?
styleing(sp?). wanted an old 4x4. liked the 60/66 chevy's. thought the same vintage dodges were so ugly they were attractive. but the 61/66 fords are imo way out in front. not sure what style you would call the slick look (art nouveau?) but when i saw a 4x4 flare/stepside with large opening fenders ...
