I agree with everything said above. I've been running my '64 with the original in-cab tank for years. I don't feel its unsafe and there's nothing like being able to hear gas sloshing around as you go around a corner.

I've sprayed the blitz black before. Its really good paint for what it is. Very durable and has a nice sheen. I would use the Valspar hardener if you can get it. 1:10 ratio does the trick.

One time I had the same exact problem on my '64. After much examination and frustration, I finally decided to replace the shoes as a last resort. This time I bought NAPA premium shoes. Instantly solved the problem.
