Re: 1965 wiring issues
The aux oil press gauge gets the power from the same IVR but there is a double wire connector that needs to get hooked up. It is with the with the wires for the amp gauge , I had a little trouble figuring it out but Brian ( Ice Man ) helped . Tom I remember seeing a pigtail attached at that end of ...

Re: 1965 wiring issues
The sending units are different for gauges than for the idiot lights. You have to have the correct sending units. if you want to run both gauges and lights you will need two separate sending units, and wiring.<br abp="237">Ford had an "overlay" harness for gauge wiring when the ...

Re: Toploader information.
i would use a large in/out toploader. any big block ford came with those. a short or a long tailshaft will work. a 429/460 bellhousing is expensive for a toploader however. any 460/429 starter will work depending on what you use for exhaust. headers or factory 460 exhaust from a later model pickup....

1965 wiring issues
I am about to finish an 8 week thrashing on a project. the truck is a 65 shorbed with 460 and c6 combination. I decided to opt for a custom cab dash insert with the auxiliary gauges this time instead of buy aftermarket mechanical oil and water temp gauges. I also am running blue strain relief Durasp...

Re: Were The Round 140 MPH Speedometers Out In 65?
the speedometer continues to round the clock after the 100 mph mark. I know. jim oberg Thanks, I'll take a look at it next time I am over there and compare it to the round truck cluster I have. Grown out of it for the most part BUT when the F100 is back in action would be cool to see a number instea...

Re: How to hook up a trans cooler on a 66 F100
Make sure your aftermarket cooler is a "stacked fin" style that looks like a radiator not the tube type. The tube type is for with a radiator not for a standalone cooler. . i am not sure which is which. in an upcoming project i had intended to use a desert cool 4 core radiator that i took...

i installed a pair of auxillary gauges in the non-custom cab dash. the wiring harness i used has a large black wire, a large black wire with yellow stripe, white wire /red stripe, and a green wire with a red stripe. i assumed the green/red wire was common to one side of both of the gauges but appare...

it has a huge advatage in handling. ask anyone who has driven a twin I-beam truck 100mph. they are not safe. it does not matter whether you have rebuilt the front suspension or not. a small bump will cause you to swap lanes. independent front suspension has a definite advatage over the antique obsol...

I have some pictures of the cab but they are incased in an email I received and I cannot copy a picture out of the email to another format or device. I am sure someone can but I can't. so many projects and so little time. which ones are worthwhile and which one's are not. it all depends on how old y...
