Well what do you know tis perfect truck is not so perfect after all. If I were the guy that bought it I would be incensed. Makes you wonder what other little things may be wrong.

Re: 66 f 100 sold at Mecum 01/06/2018 $46,750
Someone put in a lot of work, and it is a very pretty dust catcher. Couple days on the farm and it wouldn't be quite so nice. That truck is for someone that has buckets of money and a large heated garage. It may get driven a few times a year, but picking up hay with the farm hands is going to be a l...

Re: Help Identifying what these stainless trim fits
Cross section V looks like 1960 Ford fin molding, and maybe like 59 fin molding. Don't know where it would fit on a 60, maybe a 4-do, and possibly 60 Merc.?

Looks good, but I'm not a fan of setting on the ground, but it's not my truck.

Re: Anyone near Austin TX?
Not near there but my advice is to chock the wheels and crawl under the truck. Take a small hammer or just use her hands and force the truck out of third gear. And or, open the hood and try pushing the third gear lever back into neutral that way.

Unibody tailights on Evilbay
There is a pair of unibody taillights on Evilbay that are a good buy at 23$ for the pair for NOS. These go off in about 13 hours. I don't have a unibody so I cannot use these, besides I already have a pair. As most of you know, the brass barrel the bulb is inserted in often crack from years of the b...

Re: Brush and cattle guards for Slicks
Somewhere I have one, but I do not have the braces that go thru the radiator support. These were a Ford accessory for our trucks. In addition to the brace pieces there were pieces where the brace went thru the radiator support for the round hole that had to be cut. these consisted of rubber seals an...

Re: Happy Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours Tom. There are two 64 short bed trucks in Huntsville on craigslist for 2500 for the pair, thought you or someone else might be interested in. City has been down on me and several others about our stuff even though my property is zoned commercial. Otherwise I would...

Re: Eastwood scroll compressor
Tank size address's volume before compressor kicks in, and yes it matters. Sand blasting really works a compressor, and will run a compressor hard, causing heat and moisture buildup.

Re: Chrome rear bumper and brackets 66 F100
The brackets were in demand, but don't know if that has changed. Bumpers can be bought new for less than chroming costs I think, but if it is a straight bumper I would not junk it.

Problem being, if we have the bezel we also have the rest of it. Most will not sell one without the other.

Re: Looking for
I have been unable to find a supplier for the arms for the 65/7. Where have you found these? Uncertain what you call the clevis(?) on the shift linkage but I really need those two pieces as mine are sloppy on the rod and in the bushing for the shift arm. Thinking of making my own.
Thanks, Rich

Looking for
The two metal adjuster pieces on the shift linkage that screw up and down and slide thru the shift arms on a 3 speed standard transmission . Would like new if I could find these. I also have a question for those that know. I see where we can buy the rubber bushing for the shift arms on the 65/6 that...

Re: Tail gate won't open
These tailgates can sometimes slip to one side which will keep one side from unlocking. I usually have to push my tailgate toward the cab and take the pressure off the latches before opening it. I find it is usually a matter of binding somewhere so the latches won't release.

Just thinking that if the adds are telling the truth, then scroll would be the way to go. Hoping someone else had been the guinea pig and have some good or bad info to tell me. Quiet would be nice, but I already have several compressors, some I have not even hooked up yet, mainly because of size and...

One other tip on gas gauges, make sure you have a good ground on the tank.

Re: A rocker arm went dry... how far do I go?
Damaged push rod and rocker mean metal in the oil if parts have ground off. I would replace what need replaced and change the oil and filter. I don't know if you can find a drain plug with a magnet attached these days, but it would not be a bad idea to try and install one if you can one. One way of ...
