I consider my 3 on the tree an anti-theft device.
I would also say that most 3 on tree's have somewhat of there own style! In other words, mine works well I think, but you have to get to know it and hold yer mouth just right. Works for me. I won't change a thing.

Re: Header gaskets for steel against aluminum heads
I use allen head setscrews with washers and nuts. Much better control on torque and protection of the head. Also use some type of antiiseize. I can buy them locally so I don't know where to suggest getting except possibly McMaster-Carr. And in some cases this makes it easier to hang the headers with...

Re: Rotisserie Rental
I agree with the CC. Although I have to say I think that your trying to attempt something that is a very specific market. I guess it doesn't matter you only need one customer. so it's worth a try. You might consider a set length of time (months) I know if I were USING one I had rented I would know t...

Re: Front end options on a '61 uni
I may be alone on this one but I've rebuilt my entire front end and added disc brakes, new king pins. manual steering is rebuilt. Drive and rides great. Still harder to turn in to the parking space! But I do it. Works perfect for me. Do what you want it's your truck.

3M Seam sealer. does just what the name says. I think it may come in some different viscosities, for slightly different applications.

Re: Header gaskets for steel against aluminum heads
I don't have aluminum heads BUT I have used copper gaskets for my headers. I got them thru FPT in Seatlle although they do not manufacture them. Sorry wish I could recall the contact.
They have worked really well. Not cheap though.

Re: anyone know this 292?
It's not one of my old ones, I still have them All! I hope it's a good one. pull the pan and VC's and let us know. Most of them need something. I would take a look at those head bolts and make sure they are the proper length, they are new but don't look to be FORD. Need to have the proper length in ...

Re: 62 Uni sold 19,500 @ Mecum
yep, i freaked at the engine choice!.
But more importantly, IMHO it is still a very nice build of a truck. I think this is another example of a really nice vehicle that one could buy for FAR LESS than what it would cost to build it.

I like it also. The pattern is something I could get used to. If it is formica, then there are 100's of patterns and finishes correct?

So, just as their company name implies, this is what you have to do when purchasing their products.
sorry you had trouble, I thought the members on this site had figured out how this should be done with a Mustang tank for less? just asking.

just my opinion but I would NOT use felt. I would try to find some other similar thing but NON-absorbant to moisture. plastic foam or dynamat-like insulation.

I had one in mine when disassembled it just crumbled. I made a new one out of rtv and a bunch of layers of aluminum foil. (a sandwhich) worked perfect.

Re: Assembling engine question
The shop manual you may be reading is from 1964. Ford had no need to endorse STP or the like back then and we didn't have crappy gas then either. I bet the assembly lube you have is good stuff. Lubriplate is good too but like you said don't have. If it is just sitting jus make sure all is lubed up. ...
