Now that I am going to use my 66 for long distance trips after the 460 is removed will one of those universal clamp on bed covers for a 8 foot bed fit.

The 1970 motor that I am planning on installing does have a place,now my 90s 302 and 351 do not but they look like they could be drilled for one.

I will try to find a small block Z bar and related parts just in case,I kept all the clutch parts except for the trans when i converted it to a automatic.

The 460 will be coming out and the 70 302 from my 65 custom 500 will be going in but since I still have the clutch linkage and pedals for the 66 I am thinking about going to a manual trans,would the Z bar attach to the spot in the block for the ball or is there a bracket that is needed.

Make sure you get all the pulleys with the engines, as finding a matched set can be iffy at best. Just so you know, Even on stock engines in the cars and trucks the pulleys had an alignment problem. Not going with a FE and picked up a 92 351 today,I have a parts truck with a small block C-6 and mounts.

Can not make it this year,had to pull a 302 and a 351 out of wrecked trucks today before they go to the crusher and have to help a friend put a head liner in his 65 GTO tomorrow.

Plans have changed again and its going to get a 351-W and will use the smallblock C-6 and mounts from the 78 parts truck,I picked up a running 302 and 351 from wrecked trucks for 100 each so I could not pass them up.

I looked at a trans at a swapmeet and no way do i want to mess with that heavy piece of iron so its going to get a 3 speed,just too old and no trans jack.

To keep it simple and cheap I am not going to install a car 4 speed in my 66 but start looking for a truck 4 speed,what I need to know is what years of trans can I use with my bellhousing. I would like one that has a switch for back up lights since I did add them to my truck.

I have decided to put a truck 4 speed back in since I might sell or trade it in the future,I do not want to get it set up for the car trans and then have to put a 3 speed in to sell it.

Since the 460 that is in my 66 right now has issues I will most likely got with a 302 or 351-W and since I will most likely find one in a van or 80 and newer truck it will have a rear sump pan so will it work or have to convert to front sump pan.
