My 65 was bleeding all over the ground
Well not exactly blood but a significant amount of transmission fluid. Looks like the front seal on the Cuise-o-matic decided to give up out in the middle of now where. I guess it was a good thing I have a C6 in the garage that can go behind the 390. I am going to have a garage make the change rathe...

Great progress....makes me want to get out and finish my tailgate. Is the visor original or a fabrication? Only question is how do you hold the camera to get the steering wheel to show on the passenger side.......

Im sure the EPA will ultimately decide that there is no real permanent damage so there fore wont need to impose a fine that they might have to put off paying for a generation or two.......sorry, the hot weather has increased my sarcasm........

Good idea Ice....However I enjoy doing things multiple times and tend to start with the hardest method and move towards the "that was dumb" light bulb moment. Not the brightest bulb in the box but I tend to never give up.

Re: Cutting holes in new carpet
I added one step to what William described. After getting the hole cut I take a large nail and heat it to red hot with a torch and then go around the hole to burn the edges of the carpet. Helps keep it from pulling apart.

Anyone know if there is a hidden compartment for the mechanic? For that kind of money I would be wanting a full time mechanic. Probably take me a few years to just find all the tools, not sure I would know what to do with some......

I went to the local pick a part and got mine from a mid 70's ford half ton for about $50. Another few bucks for hardware and new bushings and it was WAY less than new.

Roger, I hope to be in Albany and Brownsville but my wife is in the process of her third back surgery and it is a day to day proposition. Just depends on the day. Thanks for the info on the swap. Hope to start on it towards the end of the summer. I don't know what you mean about old folks...I haven'...

My hood fit "pretty good" and the hinges were in good shape....however...when I put one of Kevin's hood kits on it fit great. Even after "stupid" owner mistake putting it on the kit was a great upgrade.

Excellent job and well done. How did the gauge panel insert attach to the original metal? I assume you had to cut the original metal to accommodate the insert and gauges but how did the two pieces connect?

Re: COM to C6
I am currently using a tilt column out of a _ _ _ _ _ van. and drive around in "2nd" gear all the time, which freaks some folks out so I am hoping that I can set it up with out much mess. The C6 has a slip joint in the tail shaft and I had thought of just making a new drive shaft to fit....

Re: COM to C6
Thanks bruceanderson, that helps. I have the 390 in the truck so it helps to know the cross member will need to move but the linkage should stay the same. I am hoping to be able to drop the COM and slide the C6 right in.......well hoping is the key word. Not much on this truck has gone that smoothly...
