Re: lighter and socket
yep, i'll even take a socket as long as the wire is good. trade or sell? Sorry, I didn't check the forum this weekend or I would have responded sooner. I do have the lighter, at least part of it, along with the two pieces of the socket. The lighter is missing the knob, but the bezel and heating ele...

Re: my 66 f100
I do not think these trucks came with the safety and reverse switches. They did not have backup lights. I do not recall what transmission you are using. Some c-6's came with the switch at the shift arm on the transmission itself. Most were on the column. You might want to take a look at later ford ...

Re: Floor plan replacement
I have a 63 f100 4x4 which came from Minnesota and it sure shows it. The floor boards need to be replaced and the drivers side front floor is the worst. You can see the left front tire from inside the cab, were there is a big rust hole were the hole is between the kick plate and the clutch pedal. A...

Re: Did I get scammed on my widsheld?
Auto glass is my profession and has been for 32 years. Yes 400 is high, even if he supplied a Carlite straight tint windshield, he still put over 300 in his pocket. Slicks are not Ferraris or Lambos, they are just not that hard to do even with the stainless. I always use sealant between the glass &...

Re: Need factory radio dimensions
Just curious...has anyone ever tried installing a Slick radio in '67 truck? The '67 model has a much smaller radio than the '68-up trucks, and it just dawned on me that the Slick radio is also smaller. Wondering if they'd swap with no mods needed. If so, it would provide a solution for '67 truck ow...

Re: Ranger Secrets
Interesting the seat re-enforcing brackets appear to be missing from the inner bolt holes of the buckets. Yeah, it looks like they just banged those holes in with a larger drill bit as the cab went along the assembly line. But also, if you notice, all of the outboard holes for the bench seat bracke...

Re: Torque specs for a Inline 6 223"
Here are the torque specs (all in ft-lbs) for that motor: (As always assuming clean and lightly lubricated threads) cylinder head bolts: 105-115 intake manifold: 23-28 exhaust manifold: 23-28 rocker arm shaft bracket: 45-55 rocker arm cover: 4-7 connecting rod cap bolts: 40-45 main bearing cap bolts...

Re: Interior Paint
I can recall reading articles in Mustang Monthly about adding a "flattener agent" to gloss paint when recreating the semi-gloss finish on some of the Mach 1 or Boss 302 hoods. If I can find one of those articles, I will forward the information on. Finding it will be fun, as I have subscrib...

Re: My stupid question for the day
I just answered my stupid question. I found the old radiator clip mounts in the pile of old parts. AHA!!! They were pressed together. Now... 1.Take one cab mounting bolt. 2.Thread into cab mount from above. 3.Wack with hammer. 4.Catch parts as they fall out of mounting holes on frame. Success! Thank...

My stupid question for the day
How do i remove the cab mounts from the frame?
I have brain farted this and now that the cab is out of the way, I am staring at the mounts and completely forgot how they get removed...
Are they threaded together, press fit, force fit, hammer fit???
Thanks in advance for refreshing my brain.

Re: MY OL 66 - Custom Cab Ranger - Project Pictures
Now the cab is completely gutted, doors are off and the cab mounts unbolted. Time to lift the cab and move it back next to the rear wheels for access to the front portion of the frame. https://s20.postimg.org/mt3vsf7l9/DSC02078.jpg https://s20.postimg.org/nxl2vbnsd/DSC02079.jpg https://s20.postimg.o...

Re: Ranger Secrets
Michelle: I just found these markings today when I removed the insulation pad off of the interior side of the firewall, just below the dash.
Looks like the Ranger interior code for my truck was marked on the inside.
