Re: beat to death radiator support question
I have not gone shopping on the net for new parts however, I believe Dennis Carpenter is importing the 66 rad support. As for the others, especially LMC, their part numbers and years are bogus nine ways from Sunday so if you can see a 65 rad support new before you buy it it might just be a 66.

Re: beat to death radiator support question
Yes the battery trays are different but I do not recall why. I thought the 66 rad support was reproduced and the 65 was not. The rad is specific to each year so it mounts differently. There is also a bracket down low on each side of the rad opening that the inner fenders bolt to that is 65 only.

Re: As rare as the F100XL ... but not as pretty
Being mostly a Ford truck guy i\O am not familiar with this numbers matching thing for Fords, I always thought it was a GM thing. I was told different by Paul and some others of faceplant. Should this Ranchero have a Numbers matching drive train? Numbers matching is refering to the vehicles V.I.N. ...

Re: anybody watch Highway to Hell on History Channel ?
That show is filmed close to my home town. I have watched team green in person years before the show came on. That M350 was scooped close to where I grew up and looked decent. A friend of mine has a 66 M350 which he has owned for close to 35 years.

Shortbox for sure. Same box 57-72. I have heard that 53-56 is the same from some people and different from others. I do not know the differences other than the tailgate.

Re: Roofs
As a Flareside owner and lover me likely very much. I also agree the mirror heads should be round not bumpside rectangle. It is true about the body side moldings not being available with the Flareside. It could also use Mercury hubcaps, front balance and tailgate :). The fender emblem suggests 1966 ...

Re: 53 to 56 compatability
Your title maybe should have read 53 to 66 interchange. If you have a Flareside the taillights will fit as will the tailgate with incorrect font for a 66.

Re: why we do log inns and passwords
I got punted once on my phone. It then asked me the secret answer to the location of a slickstock to which I must have been answering incorrectly as I have never been to one. I do appreciate the site especially the Sunday night chat so I too vote to keep the site clean. Maybe we just need a better s...

Re: New family member is a 65’ factory 4x4
Nice start for sure. It is a stretch however, to say that the motor was bored out to a 390. If you actually bored it 120 thou over you would only have a 373ci. and I do not know if you can bore an FE that much. You could stroke it to a 390 if the pistons were changed out too.
