Re: Shifting problems 1963 Three on the Tree
Oh, man.... I wish I would have seen this earlier. I just ordered the plastic spacers from Ohio and I paid for over night shipping. You know I was wondering why there wasn't even a piece of the old plastic bushings left on the column? So your saying they were never there hey! The metal spacer looks ...

Re: What have you done to your slick today??
Well, I started removing most of my front end that I had put on last weekend. I put the spacers in the wrong place on my shift tube and the only way to get to it is to removed the core support inner fender, and the column I just put in. That's why they call them projects I guess..... What's a guy to...

Re: Shifting problems 1963 Three on the Tree
Well, now I'm wondering if that white plastic spacer that I bought from LMC takes the place of the old metal spacer that I had originally? It appears from the photos I took in the beginning that the spacer may go in between the shift arms out of the tube? Can anyone confirm this ?

Re: Shifting problems 1963 Three on the Tree
Oh, Man I think I found the problem? It looks like I may have put the what I would call the keeper on the shift tube on the bottom of the tube instead of the top. I found out last night that the arm for the first gear off the column tube is not disengaging when it goes back to the neutral position. ...

So, how about the arms coming off the column? is the first one the first & reverse and the second arm the second & third gear control?

Re: Shifting problems 1963 Three on the Tree
Thanks for your help However, I pulled out the three speed floor shifter and welded up the hole when I painted the cab. I really want this three on tree to work. I will do what ever it takes to make this column work. I took everything apart in the column and it appeared to be in great shape. I still...

Re: Power steering needed.....Bad!
Ya, My sons talked me in to putting on 16" M/Ts with 265 /75R Good year tires all the way around on my truck. I have not drove it yet, I was just thinking that it is going to be a bear to steer. Maybe I'm just getting nervous or nothing. I don't mind the hard steering of a non power unit. I jus...

Power steering needed.....Bad!
Okay, anyone know what I can do now to add power steering to my 63? I seen there was a link on this site that took me to a aftermarket add on power steering unit however, it won't work with a three speed on the column truck. I worked to hard to return it the tree so that's out.... What can I do to a...

That sounds like what it is.... Where would the washer nozzles go? and what would activate the washer motor?
