I cut out and replaced the exact same section of bed floor in mine towards the front of the bed. Up and down and up and down with the welds over those ribs.

This is the exact cause of my 3 kidney stone incidents over the past four years. Dehydration. I seem to go go go all the time and after the third stone, enough was enough. I never go anywhere without a jug of water. Especially bad on the third coast here where you start sweating just looking outside...

It's very cool because it's in nice original condition. But it's yours and personally I won't lose sleep over whatever direction you go in since I usually fall asleep thinking about the one in my garage.

I say do what you want with it and be happy because buying it gave you that right.
