Favorite car

Had lots of vehicles over the years that i really liked. If i had to pick one i would say my 57 Studebaker Golden Hawk. I would try to find a good used carrier with the ratio you are looking for . changing ring and pinion is very difficult without experience and tools and gauges to set up backlash and if you dont get it right you get a very loud whine and probably premature failure. if you have to go that route find ...

Brake light switch

Dont know about different tolerances , mine just went bad. Couldnt find a Quality Switch ,so i made a bracket and used a switch for a 68 ford so now if you only tap the pedal the lights come on. If you want to stay with a pressure type, maybe Napa has good ones , i didnt try one of theirs

Thanks Bill ,My 65 doesnt give me a clue to where the jack was originally stored. Ive seen later models with the jack on the inner fender like you said but didnt know about mine

on a slick you will get a full reading when you remove the wire on the sending unit and ground it to the chassis. when the tank is full the sender should show the least amount of resistance. like someone else said maybe your using a later model tank/sender?
