Re: 4 speed vs 3 speed pressure plate
This will not answer your question, but there are differences in clutch plates and I have mixed and matched at times. Depending on the flywheel and how much it has been turned I have had a few problems from time to time. I have used clutch plates that hit the bolts holding the clutch plate to the cr...

Re: 1966 F100 Camper Special, short bed and 4x4 conversion
I have a shortbed 66 with a 4 speed and now as 390. Way more motor than it needs and have thought about automatic and 351w . Most of the setups I've seen in later broncos and such, the transmission and transfer case are far to long. I would say, that your looking at a C4 transmission and transfer ca...

Re: Front brake drums on 61
Don't know how much you spent on drums, bearing and shoes, but for the extra money and drivability I believe in going to disc on the front. Straight axles and poor steering box can be a real problem if the truck has set for a while. Tend to grab and go one way or the other if setting outside. At lea...

Ford f100 in Denver area
Advertised as 65 but is a 64 and has title. Good project for the money 750$. Will not last long at this price. If it was closer, I would already have it. Also know of short bed 65 Ranger for sale , has buckets but missing consul. It's in the Chicago.

Re: 64 front spings look like knives & bottoms out fairly ea
Several places in southwest Missouri you can find those. Some very old junkyard there. Be sure to get new bushings for the springs and shackles. Makes a lot of difference in drive quality. Not as much wandering around of the front end. And 380 does sound very high but these do come with new bushings...

Re: Clutch Z bar attachment to a 302
Just remember the ball has to be the same as the 352 or Few family for it to work right. Small block used a smaller ball than the FE if I'm not mistaken.

Re: Tailgate lower rubber bumper $, just sheet metal screws?
Never slam the tailgate on one of these trucks. Pull handle out and close it. You may not have things adjusted right, although I don't recall there being much adjustment to the tailgate, just the pieces on the bed. Also, repeated slaming will cause damage to the parts.

Just remember the Possum lodge pledge " I'm a man and I can change , if I have to. I worked with crap most of my life and saved stuff others threw away. I am a packrat and frankly have hauled stuff off thinking it was not good for anything, only to find out I needed it the following week. I do ...

Re: Car fuel tank, with fuel door in the dr quarter panel
I'm using an 84 Bronco 2 tank and I am thinking along the same lines. I've been hoping to find a junk bronco and cutting out the whole section and working it in. I have not found any with the fill in the back quarter panel. In fact around here I am lucky if I find any Bronco 2's in pieces at all. I ...

Re: Swapping mechanical fan for electric
I'm wondering why you would need anything but a stock fan even without a shroud you should have not problem with cooling. 223 engines were not a hot running engine as a general rule, and with an aluminum radiator you should have no problems.

Re: Broken shift tube
What part of the shift tube is broken? If it's the tab at the top come loose, then braze it bock on and fill the hole at the same time and drill the hole to the original size. Or, you can weld it back on. if, the bottom is where the problem is, I don't know how to fix that. I bought a new one off ev...

Re: Best mag wheels for a slick
I personally like the 95 and back Ford wheels that are smooth aluminum and have a coating. Although these are getting harder to find in good condition and be sure to get caps and screws when you do find thee. I do have some of the style that have the rivets on these also have one set of slots for th...

Re: Gas tank removal
The bottom sets in a metal piece bolted to the floor with the frame mounting bolts for the cab. You need to take the filler neck out and most likely the robber hose off the tank so you can slide the tank to the drivers side and remove it from the cab out the passenger side. Kind of tricky even with ...
