Re: Speedo still wont work?
The gear on the inside of the trans will only go on one way, There is a small notch in the gear that lines up with a small bearing. so, there is no way it can be backwards.
This is a three speeds manual trans with the cable in the left side of the trans.

The second post, here... when I took out the driven gear inside my trans it was a 6 tooth, the only thing I didn't pay attention too is if it was a left hand or a right hand. But the one I got from Mac's lined right up and I tho...

Re: Speedo still wont work?
Well, The original one I took out was a 6 tooth and thats what I put back in it, However, it didn't show that it was for a 1963, but it did fit right up in the tail piece, and it did look the same. So I guess I'm not for sure for sure it's the same. But it looks right?

Re: Steering wonders at times...
Well, I'm to the point of giving up on the steering box issue. Can anyone tell me where the best place is to get another one. I see LMC has one for around 430.00 I think I'm just going to order another one. Any help finding the best place to get one I would really appreciate it.

Re: Noise in rear axles
Well, I found the bearing on the right rear was what the problem was. It wasn't leaking any oil as yet, but man did that wheel have the play in it. I bet I could move that wheel up and down at least an 1' - 1 1/2 slop. I'm just happy I found the problem.
Thanks guys for the advise.

Re: Noise in rear axles
Why would it leak by the bearings? is it because it gets too hot and breaks down the seal by the bearing?

Noise in rear axles
I have a noise in the rear axle area and it gets louder the longer I drive it. It seems to get a little louder the warmer it gets. When I put the truck back together I took the cover off the rear end and inspected the pig, It look to me like it was brand new inside. The oil was pretty dirty but the ...

This may be a trick to some that's just common knowledge too however, I had told a guy about this and he was very pleased with the end results as I was. Door alignment after painting the vehicle. This can be a difficult task an nerve racking after your cab is painted and your ready to hang your door...

The bottom line is today paints have so many different variations that even though its the same paint code bei...
