Re: 2100 carb issue

Your butterflies should completely open. I suspect the linkage to the choke was not installed correctly. Here's a page with some diagrams that might be of help: http://www.carburetion.com/diags/2150diagpage.asp

The big one is for the gauge in the dash and the little one if for the light. So if you are replacing the gauge, swap out the big one.

Re: Added SEATBELTS legal?

Not sure, but I was in a VW bug with a total of 12 people in high school. There were only 2 in the front. Three on the back bench, another three on them, two across the laps with heads out each window and two one the engine shelf. We did not go very far, or very fast.

Re: Drip Rail repair!!!

The only way to eliminate rust-through in sheet metal is to cut it out and replace it with welded in metal. There has been talk about rust paints, seemed to me the rustoleum products were favored due to their value. Make sure whatever you use is completely cured before placing anything over it as it...

Re: Best Muffler for FEs? VIDEOS!

gas being ignited in your exhaust is a trait of exhaust systems that have little to no back pressure. Some people love the pops and it bother some people. If you do not like the pops, you need to think about different mufflers.

Not sure what engine you have, but sounds like a collapsed lifter. Should be easy to find by running with the valve cover off.

I'd figure out a way to chuck it into a drill and run it over some aggressive sandpaper. This would keep it round.

I am looking for a set of the 300/352 engine perches, power steering brackets, and the dual belt crank pulley all for a 352.

Check your accelerator pump. You should get a good squirt of gas when you open the throttle.

Re: Need help - Setting new speedometer to 0

Make sure the cable is not putting pressure on the speedo due to having and arc in it from being packaged. There is normally no direct connection between the cable receiver and the needle part as it is a magnetic charge that is used to deflect the needle. The only thing I can think of is that the ca...

Re: Torque Splitter Transmission

I've not used one, but did look at them a few years ago. I decided to just get an O/D transmission instead as it was an easier installation. It was also much less expensive. This did not address getting a heavy load moving, but did reduce the highway revs.

I've seen alternators that externally look just like generators. Might be the easy way to go.

Re: my 66 f100

I do not think these trucks came with the safety and reverse switches. They did not have backup lights. I do not recall what transmission you are using. Some c-6's came with the switch at the shift arm on the transmission itself. Most were on the column. You might want to take a look at later ford t...

I think the only safe way would be to measure what you have. There is no telling what changes have occurred to any of these vehicles in their 50+ yrs.

Re: y block paint colors..ford red or old ford blue?

Can we take a sidetrack on this thread and also talk about paint that will retain the just painted look? These pics all look great, but how does the different engine paint hold up to the heat and abuse of being run? I don't think I've found that paint yet and have tried the sprays as well as some br...

Re: T98 output shaft-speedo gr types? speedo gear ratio adap

If you already have the smallest gear, you will need the head repaired. There is either too much resistance or too little magnetic charge. A good speedo shop can address either.
