I have been talking to Casey and Truckrat. I am going ask for permission to borrow the racetrack. It belongs to Badgerland F100's. Wisconsin does not require tags on that size trailer. Just wondwering if I can pull it with an Illinois truck across 4 states and not catch the eye of an over-zealous po...

there is a series of letters/numbers that tells the casting date for example 1 D 14 would be april 14,1971 Or April 14, 1981 or even 1991 The first number would be the year, the D would be the 4th month (A=1, B=2, etc.), and the 14 would be the date of the month. On some larger parts like the block...

The Duraspark instructions I have used for years say you need the module that has a blue grommet where the wires come out of the box. Some of the odd emission controls that Ford tried changes the timing and advance too much. They were identified by the color of the plastic grommet.

The dash and seat remind me of a mid-80's LTD. They were a midsized car then. Please make sure you post the photos of the frame so we can see where you are in this project. Looks like you found yourself a nice Unibody.

Welcome to world's greatest truck site RED! You didn't include where you are from or any info about your truck. Might be someone in your neck of the woods among our members. I have a Camaro subframe under my 56 F100 panel truck. It was a vast improvement over the stock straight axle, manual steering...

"shot-peening" actually is not destructive to metal but actually strengthens it. The iron shot being blasted actually removes stresses incurred during certain types of machining. It helps align the molecules for a stronger piece. Where I work, we manufacture fuel injectors for diesel engin...

If I was closer I would trade you the shortbed for a trailer I made from a 65 longbed.
I removed the ring gear from the rearend so the pinion wouldn't be turning all the time and remove what drag that might have. Email if you have any questions on how to build the trailer.

Looks like a seat from a late 80's-early 90's cheapo work truck, XL?

I was laid-off last week. Saturday, I went to the Hunnert Car Pileup which is a huge rat-rod show. They had about 1300 cars and were turning away rides that did not meet their "criteria". These rules from the group of so-called Rebels. The irony is amusing. Sunday went to the same show men...

Just read in the Goodguys magazine about a place in Indy called www.aeroheadracing.com that sells reconditioned cylinder heads with no core charge. The small block Ford heads are milled on the deck surface, have a 3 angle valve job,1.90 and 1.60 S/S valves, etc for $399/pair assembled. I do not know ...

Dwight, I have to agree with you. I could have flown to SlickStock'06 for $200 less but what fun would that have been? Oooooh, I did not consider the transmission having a bellhousing built into it. Well, a hydraulic clutch would be easier to connect than a manual linkage unit. You would have a variety of choices for a master cylinder. The 57-60 Ford trucks used them as did the 80's and newer trucks.

A buddy of mine got a C6 and Gear Vendors overdrive from a motorhome chassis. He lucked out that the junkyard didn't know what they had.
His truck is in the bodyshop so hopefully next spring I can report on how it works behind his 429.
