Re: 1962 Mercury Longbed Uni
well it could be worse :D. The drywall isn't taped or mudded so pick the 2 ceiling joists you like mark out the other 2 lines and grab a drywall saw and get to cutting :D. I'll bet you have enough scrap lumber from the other project to make up the opening then 4 pieces of trim to drop the piece of d...

Re: 1962 Mercury Longbed Uni
Ok theres no attic access or theres no attic above the garage . Lack of access is an easy fix Lack of Attic due to being a basement garage is a different story all together .

Re: 1962 Mercury Longbed Uni
The simple answer for the lights where the garage door is is to make a bracket to mount to the ceiling on either side of the tracks and drops down below the tracks with a piece of inch and a half box tubing running across under the door :D. You mount the lights to the box tubing and even if the door...

I know a lot of us really appreciate the insight into what it takes to get one as straight as possible . This may very well be the cleanest straightest slick out there when you get done with it .

Re: Project Rejuvenate Gene: My 64 F100
Welcome to Slick 60's looks like Grandpa left a couple of decent trucks behind to be redone . The pics make the 64 look pretty decent looks like some surface rust " patina " but not much rust through . I gotta ask is the Galaxie blue .

Re: I am bidding to win
Personally I would much rather have the Florida truck, assuming it's as nice as it looks and the paint isn't covering up torque-box rust. There's just something off to me about the Missouri truck, plus there's indications of torque-box rust in the pics. The engine/tranny swap is a turn-off for me a...

Re: I am bidding to win
Personally I like the ebay one better than the Fla one . Did I mention it is a rare beast it isn't cobbled together . You cant even get the BBW rubber today without the stainless option for it not to mention I have never seen a stock BBW without the aluminum trim around the bottom of the back window...

Re: I am bidding to win
If I win this I can go pick it up in MO and avoid the FL trip the misses is dragging me on next week. I like the 240/AT combo. I will stick it in a friends shop until I have time to do something with it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1963-F100-UNIBODY-BIG-WINDOW-FORD-TRUCK-/221281824564?ru=http://...

I voted for option 1 with the custom front/rear bumper your doing might as well go the extra little bit with it .

Max I would bet most of that filler is between a 32nd and a 64th of an inch thick if its that thick .

Yeah I now have a dedicated welding table with a light over it. I haven't had an issue with the harbor freight helmet but maybe that's just what I am used to lol. Justin next time your up around Louisville plan an extra hour or so and bring your HF hood with you :D. I'll let ya play with the Hobart...

Paul to answer your question to Ken . When speaking of Unibodies and BBW's the only correct answer is Big Back Window :D. I am somewhat surprised our Fearless leader didn't say that :D. Lance speaking of which I like the slot car but the body lines on the side are not quite right for a Uni :D. Rick

Re: Change of Plans! For the Better?
Steve come on down to Louisville I can take you to a few of my installs of Mini Split Heat pumps . I have a set of them in a church rec hall I did . The job would have been around $15,000.00 if I had put in a ducted system . The job ended up at less than $7500.00 with the 2 mini splits and they are ...

Re: 1965 in Delaware
I am going to disagree with Justin on this one . Go to Tractor supply they have a Hobart auto dark hood for less than $80.00 out the door . The optics on the Hobart put the Harbor Freight hoods to shame completely ( I have owned both ) . I currently have a Miller Big Window Elite I got a screaming d...

Re: The 1964 F100 4x4
Chris heres a page from Dennis Carpenter with your bed chains . You are looking for 1957-1963 styleside bed parts . I don't see the tailgate bumpers listed for your year so you may want to call them and see if they carry them or know who does . http://dennis-carpenter.com/trk57-66tailgates-parts/c/8...
