I replaced the core on mine this past summer and it made a HUGE difference in the heat output....was nearly as cheap as refurbishing/cleaning the old one.

I removed my dash pad this past summer and the paint underneath was in pretty good condition. Has a few scuff marks/rough spots, but it looks tons better than the old, cracked dash.
