SlickStock attendance
Just wondering, since I'm not on FaceBook…. are there Facebook members that are talking about attending SlickStock at all, either now, or before it was postponed? It seems traffic at this site is down, or at least visitors aren't posting much, so I'm even wondering what attendance will look like amo...

Re: Rat Rods are getting bigger
Not a rat rod guy myself, but a lot of times, I can appreciate the creativity and work that was put into them. As long as they're safe, I say "why not". Not a big fan of tuner cars either, but if you think about it, that car to them is no different than a Nova, Camaro, Mustang or Chevelle ...

Re: 300 finally died. Motor is out.... what now?
Regarding the studs, you'll have to read up on that. I believe there are some heads where you have to do that. My engine is a 1969, and the studs were the right size. You should be able to pull some manifolds at a boneyard for a lot less, if you have one nearby. I see them occasionally on Craigslist...

Re: 300 finally died. Motor is out.... what now?
Spend a little time over at the fordsix.com website. There's so much that can be done with the 300. The weighted spring on the exhaust manifold is there to restrict the exhaust, causing the manifold and engine to warm up quicker. If you keep it, just occasionally check to see that it's free. If it l...

Re: Pertronix Install Problems
I'm on my 3rd Pertronix. The latest is the Ignitor II, and has been problem free for the last 8 or 10 years since I bought it. This one is the first that I understood and realized that I wasn't providing full 12v to it, as I had the resistor wire still in place for the first two. No idea if that add...

Disabling your truck
So, just to throw a new topic out there to start some conversation.... I'm headed to Chicago in my slick tonight to pick up my daughter's boyfriend's scooter to bring it home so she can take her test at the DMV this weekend. I'm sure I don't need to worry about the security of my truck, but I recall...

Re: Stumbled upon this product
Interesting. Seems a lot like POR-15. Odd how their FAQ section says it dries faster with higher humidity. Also see where silver is for outdoor use, and black for indoor, where black will turn chalky and gray if used outdoors. I suppose for a frame where it's primarily covered, black would work.

Re: Speedometer Frustration
You don't want to know what I spent fixing my jumping speedo needle. I knew I needed a new cable, as mine was too short. I have a toploader from a car, so the cable was an issue when I got the truck years ago, but I just got tired of the jumping needle. I took it to a speedo shop in Milwaukee, and h...

Well, we could run it past Darrell and the Moderators again, and see what the cost would be to update the site to be able to post pics. Not that I ever post them, but I'd chip in, so I could see more content here.

Found a uniform for you to wear while riding it! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronald_McDonald :rotflmao: JK. I like it! It's got style. Tried to talk my son into finding something odd/old/unique when he was looking for a riding mower. Unfortunately, I couldn't find him one quick enough before he ha...

Re: 1965???
Funny, I'd already told him all of that when I saw the pictures this morning. He basically bought it on a lark, so I don't think he's too put off (he can afford it). He's thinking of having it lettered and putting it out front of his landscape business as road art/signage. Watching some footage of t...

1965???
A buddy of mine bought this at the Mecum auction for $1000 on a lark ($1600 out the door after fees). Said it was the last vehicle of the night, and they started it at $1000, and nobody was bidding, so he put his number up! Broke the news to him this morning that it's not a 65! haha. Says it's prett...

Found more on that truck. Got the builder's name from the rear plate. There's a video at the link on their site. Nice build.

Re: building size
What a cool problem to have!!! haha. Father of one of our friends has a pole barn up north, and his solution was to build a workshop within the barn, and only heat that. The whole barn is lighted and has a concrete floor, but it's only heated in his shop. In fact, Natalie and I have seen pole barns ...

I've done it too!!! Lost about 4 quarts of oil in 15 or 20 seconds in the neighbor's Chevette I was changing her oil on, when I was a teenager.
