Re: Dan's 1963 F100 split uni (with world's ugliest tailgate
I just cleaned out this door I bought a while back. I bet there was enough dirt in there for a small house plant. http://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q696/copperclockmaker/13226676_10205918756397684_5689039147817834098_n_zpsz66zd3eb.jpg After I get the tar off of the inside top, I am going to measur...

Re: How it feels to have a project car or truck
I try not to think of it as a project car, as much as I am building a new truck out of an old one.

Re: Dan's 1963 F100 split uni (with world's ugliest tailgate
just fixed a leaking engine dipstick, and adjusted the clutch. I hate how the clutch pedal was so high, so I adjusted it down as far as it would go, then adjusted the free travel. It seems like in order to push the brake and clutch pedals I have to put my knees in my chest. Maybe it is just me.

Re: turn signal switch question
My intent would be to mod the existing collar for the later switch. I already have a flasher in dash. If it would work it would give us a broader option as far as finding turn signal switches, and gain hazard lights in the process without adding any extra wiring. I might buy one just to " take ...

turn signal switch question
I was buying stuff for the ununi on dennis carpenter, when I saw a picture of a turn signal switch for a 73-79. It looks to be fairly similar to the one I have in there now, but with a hazard light function. Would it be possible to use this one on my truck if I file a notch for the flasher knob, or ...

Re: 3 spd column shift behind a 300 six
To put it in the truck I used a bolt in crossmember for a FE engine. I set it up on 3 inch steel blocks that I made out of channel steel. If you use the mount as is, the front pulley will hit the front k member. The clutch rod will be nowhere near where you need it, and the oil pan will stick out to...

Re: 3 spd column shift behind a 300 six
I used the original bell housing. I took a tape measure and measured everything. The bolt pattern on the front of the transmission was the same, and the length of the input was as well. Everything bolted up. I think it was a 1 1/16 inch input.

Re: 3 spd column shift behind a 300 six
I did just that in my 63. I used a three speed that was out of a 70 model with a 390. My 300 is out of a 1980 f100. I would have used the transmission out of the 80 model, but it had the long tail on it, whereas the one out of the other truck was the short one, so I didn't have to mess with the driv...

Re: 292 yblock with new clutch assembly/223 - 6 transmission
You need to have someone push the clutch in while you are under the truck to see what the moving parts are doing. 3 finger (Long) clutches have an adjustment for the release lever height. It may be adjusted with the levers closer to the plate than the old one. If you switch from Long to diaphragm, y...

Re: Do you know your pick-ups?
I got a 57%. I knew the Fords and recognized the bed fenders on the Studebaker trucks. I had no idea about the years on the other pre war stuff, and I didn't even know that Hudson made trucks until I took the quiz.

What is this thing? (with correct picture)
I found this thing while cleaning out my shed. It had a float inside it and a cover. Does anyone know what it is? I have no idea. I has two threaded outlets on the bottom of the other side. http://i1354.photobucket.com/albums/q696/copperclockmaker/1927751_10205282883821267_4595522908125334767_n_zpsd...

I used silicone and just glued it in. I have no idea what they used originally.

Good work. Stuff making is a satisfying hobby. I make clocks and incense burners. Good to see other people making stuff as well.

New Movie
The 11 year old told us a joke today.
" Have you heard of that new movie 'Constipation"? After we all say "no", he says "It hasn't come out yet"

Re: Dash lights / Bulb covers
I have not melted one yet. I have not tried it on the high beam indicator. Just the turn signals. I should do an overnight test on one to see if it melts.
