Re: 64 Tweety Bird
After a couple of years saying I was going to do it, I finally did. I put an under dash rear brake bias adjuster in Tweety. Wish I'd thought about it when I was plumbing Nadine. Maybe some day I'll do a retro-fit. I am going to flip that bolt and nut over by the way. http://i270.photobucket.com/albu...

Aftermarket flair side beds - caution
This is more of a FYI than it is a rant but I think that if you're going to go with a new aftermarket flair box you should know in advance that they might not fit your original frame mount holes. I have no idea why not, but mind didn't. And you need to address all this before you paint and finish yo...

Re: The new bed box
Thanks Erl. I appreciate the kind words. Yeah, I love that little "bad boy rake". Pate was fun but you didn't have much luck on the trip, did you. And, it was very educational to see your buddy's Mercury "Mountie" F-100 (aka Ranger, Canadian version). First one I ever saw. The Te...

The new bed box
Special thanks to BroncoTom, Mr. Dale and Toyz for helping me mount the new box on the frame today. Some issues but nothing that can't be worked out. Just more minor "shit" to use up time. Anyway, I couldn't wait to put the fender welting on the fender so we test mounted it to get a genera...

Re: Hey Uncle Skip !
Thanks Kevin, but Dave, if you need any more information just let me know. I've learned a couple of things since I first did that article. One in particular is the fuel tank vent. I think I put it in Builds and projects but it might be in hints and tricks. The other thing is if you're using a style ...

Re: Ricky's 66 F100 build
Dude. That rust is way ugly, you can swap a top, but if you've never done one I wouldn't recommend it as a first time project. Where are you located. I bought a cherry 66 cab at Pate this year for way little money. No rust, as in NO RUST. They are still out there. Tell us where you're located and ma...

Mustang fuel tank....... vent
One of the things I did not anticipate when I did my Mustang fuel tank install was puking gas out the vent on hard acceleration. A lot of gas. After this undesirable action was duly noted by "friends" (after they quit laughing) I cobbled together several temporary fixes. But now I have my ...

Re: Replacing brake switch
Guys, Ron Francis Wiring has a "low pressure" brake switch with a neat little connector that you should consider. I noticed on my own master cylinder that sometimes I had to really press down on the brakes to get the brake light to come on. I don't know if that is or was a function of the ...

Like Pat said, did you bolt the torque converter to the flywheel/ flexplate?
Really easy to forget to do that. Just sayin'.

How to install door weatherstripping
First. To properly install door seals, it is a job best done on the bench and with two sets of hands. It can be done on the truck, but it sure is a lot easier and cleaner laying down where you can get to things. Second, use only 3-M weather strip adhesive (black or yellow. I don't think they make cl...

My yearly rant
Its time for my yearly rant about colon cancer. If you're offended by references to bodily functions or graphic descriptions, tune out now. I am currently happily celebrating my 12th year of remission from being diagnosed and treated for stage 4 colon cancer. The oncologist said that if I'd waited 6...

A quart should do three coats on your wheels, your bumpers and your grill.

Re: Brake lights
One wire to the brake light switch will always be hot. The other wire goes to the turn signal cam and will over ride both rear turn signals when put your foot on the brake. You should be able to see the stop lights even when the ignition is off. The second hot wire that goes to the turn signal cam i...

Please say a prayer
Folks, Johnny Canuck is going thru a very difficult and trying time in his life.
Apparently his wife, Lesley, is not doing well and could use all the Good Karma we can send them.
Please, keep both of them in your hearts and your prayers.
Thanks to all of you.

Sean from SDM Designs came by today and striped the hood for me. It's not only fun, it's amazing to watch people like this work their craft. He did this all free hand in two different reds. I can't see the difference but he promises me it's there. If you live in Houston area and want pin striping, I...

Re: My Rant
Joey. The other thing to remember is that when you first joined our Slick family, it was pretty damn small (the family that is), the trucks weren't so popular as they are now (thanks to us), and the more exposure a breed of trucks gets, the more "experts" there seem to be. Besides, I'm see...
