Re: Adavanced Adapters OD

There's a guy down this way that fitted one to a bronco, he complained about the noise also but if I recall some 'softer' gear oil helped. I'll try and dig up the thread.

Re: Chrome dash plugs?

^^^^^ Do they have the attachment prong in the middle? I have the custom cab lower trim piece below the dash which came with one plug and I need one more, but everything I've found only has the prongs around the edges like this and the slick needs it in the middle. http://cdn3.volusion.com/rocyq.axp...

Re: Door Seal help

Yes I thought that may be the case, but Im reluctant to bend the door as it fits very well into the cab frame. The window frame is perfect (for a 60's car) The only area I'd say that isn't is the bottom rear of the door where the curve is. Theres probably a 1/8 to MAYBE 1/4 that sits proud. So bendi...

Door Seal help

Hi all, been pretty busy the last few months so missing some of the action around her lately.... Thought I'd ask a question about door seals. I bought a complete cab kit from Tom a few years back and fitted it all, really happy with the quality and fit of everything but I am having some trouble with...

Check the return spring on the carb also. Had this exact problem recently.

Re: Info on the 'Pertronics' ignition system.............

dirtbike that's EXACTLY the problem I had with the rotor not fitting properly and also the screws didn't align correctly on the 'points' Basically the box said 351c but it didn't fit mine, it's only good for the American 351c (kit 1281 maybe?!) There's a specific Bosch/motor craft kit for our 351c!...

Re: Info on the 'Pertronics' ignition system.............

Im joining the thread a little late, but thought Id add to the success of the pertronix converted..... Heres my :2cents: 289w mustang came with Pertronix 1 installed by P/O with standard coil. 11 years since and I've NEVER had an ignition problem. Ive left the ignition on for ages installing radios ...

Re: Electric power steering?

I'm not sure if this is going to help you or not seeing he brackets are a problem, but my straight axle slick had power steering added. It had a ram bolted to the axle and a bracket in the draglink and control valve was up at the pitman arm. I believe was from a 60's mustang and I would think would ...

Re: C4 Speedo Drive Gear Size

Maybe check the full length of the cable, I have seen 'converter boxes' spliced in that slow down or speed up the cable when converting between k/mph. There's only a small range of driven teeth available for the gearbox end, (17-26tooth gears?? Can't remember) but these aren't enough to make the con...

Re: C4 Speedo Drive Gear Size

I think you are correct Toyz. When they were listed by D.C, they still displayed the mph picture so it wasn't possible to tell where the 100 was on the dial. It would need different internals though so the odometer counted km rather than miles. Annoyingly the one I had that was converted still count...

Re: C4 Speedo Drive Gear Size

When you say you changed back to mph, did you change the whole odometer and gauge? I know there is a kph speedo available (DC still lists them last time I looked) so if it was a kph speedo then the gearing should be the same on the gearbox, it'll be internals of the mph gauge that are different. My ...

Re: Advice needed about Cowl treatment

A temporary option maybe? It's for a mustang but would probably work with the minor mods.

Re: Advice needed about Cowl treatment

It's a bugger of a spot, previous slick had this right in the curve behind and up on top of the column near the pedal support. It too had some sort of filler in there that I resealed and left alone but there was flaky rust. I had the same problem on the mustang with the dreaded cowl vent and repaire...

Re: Some slow progress, seats.

orangeRcode the dash is painted, I don't think we got padded dashes this side of the pond. (Never seen one) The seat belts were in it when I bought it and look like they have been there from the beginning. They have a funny inverted T bushing mount through the floor that's threaded to accept the se...

Some slow progress, seats.

Hey all, Been a bit busy past few months with moving house and worked to the bone! Anyway, I have the interior finished off now save for a radio (Cleveland noise is good for now) I went with white for the roof and the factory layout for the seat, but used a cloth houndstooth insert instead of the wo...
