Re: Crockett, CA checking in.

Damn cobwebs. I figured as much. Not to worry, I'll be working on some stuff here soon that should draw some serious attention. I just got to get through all the boring dismantling parts of this project. Just scored some pipe to finish up the frontend swap. I'm looking at buying a 2000 explore (v8 m...

Re: Crockett, CA checking in.

Got my k-member out today finally. I thought I might try and cut it out in one piece. No such luck, so I cut it with a saws all type deal and a cut off wheel. Now I got it up and in a relative location till I drill some holes and get some pipe. It's so damn hot here I need to throw in the towel till...

Re: Crockett, CA checking in.

Well this morning I've been draining my gas out of my tank. While this is happening a trickle at a time. No, just a lot of fuel in the tank. I've been pondering about my engine as it sits off to the side. Still not quite sure as to what fe I am looking at. Yesterday I drained the oil and found the h...

Re: Crockett, CA checking in.

Got some more parts yesterday in the mail. I found some Threaded tube inserts to fit my 1 3/4 120 wall dom tubing. Finally! The price was great and the product looks good as well. They were only 10.99 a piece. I'd like to add that they only get cheaper the smaller you go. Here's some shots. http://i...

Re: Is it the ignition switch?

If your dash lights don't come on when you turn the knob, you can do a little test. Pull the light switch and take some 600- 400 grit sand paper a a tiny strip of paper. Run it between the the rheostat contact and the spring deally. You will notice it when you see it. It controls your dash lights wh...

Re: Stock parts pricing?...

Yea, I'm not sure about that either. Mine's a 65 styleside 2wd dana 44 with posi traction. Not sure that is what the factory called it. So I went with traction lock. :burp: Thanks. I think, since I'm doing a cv swap. I'll use the eye beams to hold the frame straight. Instead of wasting good square t...

Stock parts pricing?...

Good morning all. I have A 1965 f100 SWB. I have recently tore out my suspension, steering and brake systems. Upgrading all to Crown Vic. I'm curious if there is any value to these parts. I have a complete Dana 44 with 3.something gear ratio with a traction lock. Leaf springs and all the mounting br...

Re: Crockett, CA checking in.

Thanks John. I fear the hard work is about to start with boxing the frame. Might end up needing to buy a new makita for the job, and about a hundred cut off wheels. Should be fun though.
