Re: Rodfest
270 mile round trip with no real problem. Truck got 13.1 miles per gallon-not bad for 352/auto. Twice on the way and once on the way home it would act like someone turned off the key for about one second and then backfire and go back to normal. This was on flat ground running about 65. Any clues? Ye...

Headed to a car show at Pearsall Texas tomorrow in my 66. First trip of any distance and I think we are both ready! It's about 125 miles one way. This is the first of several shake down runs before the trip to Slick Stock in August. One of the prices for entrants is a flaked roof. This sounds like a...

Are the wheels by chance 17.5. I have never seen a one piece 17 inch wheel. 17.5s were common on government vehicles during the 1960s.

Slickstock is the "Holy Grail" of this club. I have been to every one since the first one in 2004. This year I plan on driving my truck to Slickstock for the first time! When I attended the first one, i did not even own a Slick. If you don't have a truck,or yours is not ready, fly, drive, ...

Re: 390 and C6
I have made all of them starting in 2004. All with no truck. This time I am planning on bringing my 66. If something happens that I can't bring the truck, who cares, I have proven I will have a wonderful time. I would like to suggest working on what you got and putting the 390-c6 swap until later. T...

Gary, every carb i have ever worked on had to be thrown away. I better leave it to the pros. Anthony, a little hole in the wall drive shaft shop in Corpus Christi, Texas called Alamo Drive Shaft. They do lots of industrial and oil field work. He say's he probably has it in stock, if not two days to ...

Finally had a little break in the heat today. Took the drive shaft of for a new slip joint(352,C.O.M.) and took the carb off for a rebuild. Still have one or two good carb men in the Corpus Christi area. The best one for years was a lady but she retired. I am getting ready for the Hot Rod Riot car s...

Check with Lucky's Rod Shop, Ennis, Texas before you buy. I know two people who have their hang on under dash unit and are well satisfied. Should be 4-5 hundred. Thanks, Lyman.

Back in about 1988 they lost our son between Austin, Texas and Dallas, Texas. When Pat inquired at the desk where he was, the clerk replied " I don't know, what have you heard?". I thought I was going to have to pull her off the guy. Any way, they found him about 2 hours later. In today's ...

Alan, the hood ornament is a boat light. Chrome housing with the red and green lights. It is tied to the parking lights. I will take a close up, but may not live long enough to post it here.

Re: First show for Grace!
Thanks everyone, but the thrill is gone. I was so excited to make my first show and share the pictures and after an hour with my wife's help, I thought who cares, I could easily just put them on facebook. I don't really care for the facebook site, but this may explain why it seems to grow a little e...
