Re: speedo cable help
Ross,
A bit late in answering, but...
I have a couple push in speedometer cables from different trucks. Any idea what tooth count you need on the driven gear?
If you still need a cable let me know. I can bring it to the Albany swap meet.

Re: Correct Power Steering Box For Our Trucks?
Will this box only require a 1/2" steering shaft shortening to work on a manual steering column? Closer to 3/4", as I remember. I have seen conversions using the Bendix box where nothing needed to be altered or modified, but this depends on the condition of the body mounts, body insulator...

Re: Starter motor wiring help
The blue/red wire should go to the "S" terminal on the solenoid and the brown wire to the "I" terminal. If there is only one black/yellow wire it would go to the Bat + side of the solenoid. The blue/red wire is the "trigger" wire for the solenoid, that is, "hot&quo...

Re: Advice wanted for finicky hydraulic lifters
With the intermittent nature of your problem I would think maybe there is dirt, or other contaminate in the oil system. Another "snake oil" treatment that has always worked for me is Valve Medic. On the can it says that if it doesn't quiet noisy lifters mechanical work is indicated. In eve...

Re: Upgrade seats
I've seen a few with 90's F150 seats. I believe the some of the Eddie Bauer and XLT F150s had a bench with a folding center armrest and inflating lumbar support. Fordification has some good reference pics here: http://www.fordification.com/tech/seats.htm I have a seat from a '94 F-150 XLT in my '66...

Curious as to how you fit up the metric wheels on the truck. Does it have newer axles? Wheel adapters?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: intake manifold oil baffle (valley pan)
Re the baffle. If Ford didn't think it was necessary it's a pretty good bet they wouldn't have installed them on the millions of FE's they built Factory intakes, cast iron and aluminum, have an additional baffle/pan riveted to the underside of the intake. This baffle/pan is the primary protection ke...

Re: the orange river
Im sure the EPA will ultimately decide that there is no real permanent damage so there fore wont need to impose a fine that they might have to put off paying for a generation or two.......sorry, the hot weather has increased my sarcasm........ Ross, I hadn't considered the hot weather. I figured it...

Re: the orange river
I wonder what/how the EPA is going to fine themselves for the spill.
Pretty sure if the mine owner had created the spill the EPA would have to invent a new number to find one large enough for the fine.

Hello and a belated welcome from Corbett, the place the TV stations send their weather reporters when the wind blows. Don't feel the need to make excuses for your truck. You have it on the road and are enjoying it. That is more than a lot of people can say. I like your idea to keep it a 6 cylinder. ...

Re: COM to C6
Ross, I have done the swap more than once, though it has been years. As mentioned, it is a pretty straight forward process and any issues that crop up are usually easily remedied. Trans cooler and lines, shift linkage and driveshaft mods are the big issues. Most everything else is nuts and bolts. Fe...

Re: A question about seat compatability
I know for a fact that F-series seats through the mid 1990's will fit our trucks. The truck in my avatar has a seat from a '94 F-150 in it. The '66 tracks (sliders) fastened to the '94 seat with minimal trouble and the whole assembly bolted into my '66 using the factory mounting points. As an aside,...

Re: Manual to Power Steering Upgrade
There is a difference between power and NON power steering column assemblies of the '65-'66 trucks. The difference is minor, but can cause problems, and.... Not all FE P/S brackets and pulleys will work. The steering shaft is about 3/4" shorter on the '65-'66 P/S columns that used the Bendix bo...
