Re: Thinking about converting my 66 to a 1/2 ton
I had 350 lbs in the back of my F100 LWB on the interstate today. What a smooth ride.

Re: Tire Size
I was planning on keeping a 4 in back spacing since all the extra room is on the outside.
I like the whitewalls but the biggest tire I have found with them is a 235-75-15 and I would really like to go taller than a 29in tire.

Tire Size
I ran across a nice set of 15x7 F150 Aluminum wheels with nearly new 265-70-15s for sale locally that I can get for a sweet price. How will that size wheel and tire fill the wheel wells on my LWB 66? I like the taller tire, it pulls the rpms down a bit a speed. I had planned on running a 235-75-15 w...

Re: Thinking about converting my 66 to a 1/2 ton
There are way fewer 250s than 100s. Why not sell or trade the 250 for a 100?

Re: Rear glass uninstall/reinstall
Didn't get to it this weekend. We got caught up in yard work and house projects. After thinking things over here is my new plan. Im going to light up the gas burner and bring a pot of water to near boiling, shove the gasket in and heat it up so its nice and pliable. I think I will install the glass ...

Re: Rear glass uninstall/reinstall
Drop by a glass shop sometime and pick up a few "spoons". Spoons are flat plastic tools that the shops use when working with rubber and interior parts. They are a must have IMO. A shop will give you a couple or charge you a couple bucks for them. They are a consumable item in a glass shop.

Re: Rear glass uninstall/reinstall
Ive installed glass before. Flat glass is pretty easy.
I haven't ever used sealer.
Does the sealer go in the glass groove or the cab groove?
Did Ford use a sealer?

Rear glass uninstall/reinstall
Ive got everything I need to install the new headliner.
The rear glass is in good shape, the gasket sucks, so since the head liner installs behind the gasket, I ordered a new one.
Im planning on doing the window and head liner tomorrow.
My helper is the misses.
Wish me luck.

Re: Bought a new toy
I like that EH but how about a police interceptor like Max drove? The misses had me pull the pony out of the grill of the old 65 and install it in the new 65. Its got 2 chamber flow masters, way to loud IMO but she says leave them alone. I put turbo muffs and glass paks on the 352 in my 66, nice and...

Re: 66 2wd leaf spring frame mounting brackets
Those brackets are as heavy duty as the frame.
What makes you think they need to be replaced?
If those are shot, chances are so is your frame.

Bought a new toy
Surfing CL and had some coin burning a hole in my pocket. The misses talked me out of a 30k 57 Chevy Sport Sedan because I didn't have all of it in cash and she does not like loans. I found this 65 Mustang with tons of goodies. Borgeson PS, PDB, new flowmasters, new interior, new suspension, new whe...

Is your Slick a DD?
Just curious how many of you use your Slick as a DD. I don't mean that it runs well enough to be a DD, I mean how many of you drive it to work every day and whenever you need to go somewhere. I consider mine as my DD because its the only thing with 4 wheels left to drive after my misses goes to work...

Re: Headlight relay question
I buy batteries that have both top and side posts.
I hook up the battery cables to the top posts since it looks somewhat oem, then use the side posts for accessories.

Take a guess on how much it will cost to make that road ready and pass DOT inspection?
