How Are Your Torque Returns From A Modified 240/300?

Hello, I have ran my old FE on over a dozen 1,200 mile round trips in the past two years. Now I am kicking around the idea for a good gasoline powered replacement other than the 430 MEL. From my tech days I remember customer's 300 6's being dead reliable if they didn't overheat them. Just check the ...

Re: Running 1965 430 MEL And Transmission $600

Lincoln 430 and I would like to move this combo by October 31st. I have it and a few other FE and Slick parts located in 76710. Here is a picture link on the MEL Forum. The 430 for sale mated up to a manual transmission on a 1966 F-100 chassis. Some run them with only four bolts on an FE bell housi...

FordFE.com has some good information on date code decoding and typical sales pricing. You can find Cobra Jet and other special date coding in the $100 price range.

Re: What Option Dictated Chrome Or Aluminum Grille?

Its my understanding the Custom cab trucks were top of the line back in those times. And received the bright work inside and out... Otherwise it was painted grill and front bumper, rear bumpers were an option regardless of trim level. Mirrors, rear bumpers, hazard lights, spot lights and such luxur...

What Option Dictated Chrome Or Aluminum Grille?

Back in 1991 I had one and my brother's 66 had a chrome steel grille. Was it offered factory chrome? They were both aged when we got them.

Non Overdrive 250V 5 Speed With I6/Small Block Bell Housing

I bought the "Free F-600" I have listed in these classifieds for the transmission. The big truck bell housing has a 1965 year model date code. Being a Clark/New Process bell it probably used the big flywheel. I thought the transmission had a good gear split but decided to buy a 282V that w...

Re: Solution to carb problems

I read good things about the Holley Sniper System on FE Power forum. I messed with adjusting an earlier system with a laptop. That was the only time I dealt with one but it was fairly easy to adjust.

Re: Cowl Panel Patches

I was thinking the other way, 14 is pretty thick. My headliner is gone, the point where I can put my finger in the hole above the visor feels like it was no thicker than the floor pans. The pieces I robbed from an old cab made me curious but I haven't cut into the pillar support either. EDIT: I'll c...

Concerning slick body parts, did Ford use the same gauge metal on all of there cab? Were pieces like cab mounts, floor pans and braces thicker?

Fresh Brake Upgrade For 1965, Still 4 Drums

I installed a pre-bent brake line system for a 1967 F-250 from Inline Tube. New master cylinder and N.O.S. distribution block. The 67' brake light switch is hung on the steering column and uses the brake pedal arm for a trigger. I did have to add a spring to help the brake pedal overcome the valve s...

thanks to each of for weighing in. I guessed the consensus would have been to dump the 360... so this is good information for me. That wasn't my consensus. Both engines have there strong points. I personally have not seen any gasoline trucks match the 300 economy until the EcoBoost era. I don't exp...

Re: Swapping out an FE 360

If you keep the FE the 3.5" stroke is still a good crank for towing. Blair Patrick Enterprise has 4.062" pistons with the correct deck height. Another way to get proper compression height is a set of 332 pistons on 6.49" Ford 390 rods. You'll need to shave .007 + of the tops. All the ...

Intermittent Wipers Available For Two Speed Slicks

Link says 68 but I bet the module won't know the difference as long as you have a two speed motor and switch. See the video on how it works.
