Re: WHAT UP???????

On a positive note the old F-250 has made 10 ½ 1,200 mile round trips Texas to New Mexico over the last year and a half. One trip I had two blow out's and a tire separation on my trailer. Easy fix, put new tires on the truck and swapped the good truck tires to the trailer. I have a trailer I pull a...

Re: WHAT UP???????

Bill
I know they changed the gas filler necks in 1972. and even further up like 73-79 trucks. I don’t ever recall seeing any of those years leaking gas down the side.
You might find it easier to use a later neck, and a non-vented cap, than one to fit the older necks.

Just a thought......

Re: WHAT UP???????

Bill:
Just keep watch on that tank if you run a non-vented cap. Over the years I've seen 3 different trucks where the tanks were SUCKED FLAT by that same thing. They were so flat you couldn't get 3 gallons of gas in them.
I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes.

Re: WHAT UP???????

I've had trucks for over 40 years, but only been on here for about 3 1/2 years, that's when I got hooked. I still come on nearly everyday to see what the latest is. But, I guess it's like Facebook, after a while you realize you spend too much valuable time on here, so you cut back. Or you finish you...

WHAT UP???????

Hummmmm...... I know I'm way far behind on my own rebuild, so I probably shouldn't say anything ....but what gives. Slicks are still being bought, built, driven, and sold. Somebody should have something to say about them. I know the country is.... "excuse me" , the WORLD is in bad shape, b...

Hey River City: I've got a 64 short bed that's Skylight Blue, but just got off a site that said the only light blue for 64 was Glacier Blue. Gotta watch some charts I guess. Anyway, I don't have it here in front of me but I've always heard the Blue you're looking at called Marlin Blue. Harbor Blue a...

Re: wiper motor problems

Maybe this will help. On Carpenters motors, supposedly you run the motor without hooking any wiper linkage to it, then cut it off. After you cut it off, you bolt the short wiper linkage to the shaft in the area as pictured. Then run it again and cut it off, Now is when you install your wiper arms &a...

Re: Quarantine

Everyone of us, should be extremely thankful each day that we can say "I DON'T HAVE IT" . Realizing that any day could be the day that we say "I DO HAVE IT" , then wonder if we'll be able to beat it or not. I never took cancer serious until I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma ...

Yes Sir Zax63.
It was a 5/16 standard thread, 3/4" long. Mine came with flat washers but I threw them away and used lock washers (just to be safe)

Re: I'm hoping to SOON make some changes on my 64 s/b

:( I know I said "SOON", but I had to work on getting it back road worthy after sitting for several years. First "just to get it running" I started with removing the gas tank emptying it, shining a light through the sending unit hole and with my camera in the filler tube hole, if...

Re: '63 Steering Column

I've built a lot of columns, and some have that wavy washer while others were missing there's. I can't see any difference in the way they shift with or without it. If it was my column I would get a new shift collar though. I assume you already have, with the exposed wear on that old one. They are al...

Re: 1964 Long Bed (Snow Queen)

Welcome from N.C. Your truck looks pretty good to me. I've got a S/B 64, daily driver. I want to do a lot to it, but every time I have the time I have no cash, and when I have the cash, I'm busy and have no time. Just waiting for the warm weather to set it and I'll have more daylight hours and maybe...
