Re: 16" Tire Fitment
Thank you kindly for the information. An old friend was the seller - so I picked them up today. Now to get them mounted! I was dreading buying new since I dont drive it that much. Edit: I got them mounted and balanced and it rides like a cadillac now (comparatively to before). Very happy with the fi...

16" Tire Fitment
Having trouble figuring out what tires will fit the stock 16 inch rims on my ' 65 2wd.
Will these 245/75/16 tires fit or are they too wide?

Thanks!

Got to use mine as it's supposed to be used for once; for hauling. Filled the bed up with concrete blocks and mortar. Weighed it down pretty good and it drove just fine.

Re: Running Out At Half A Tank
Pulled the sender today and looked again. As I remember, it is very clean. No obvious rust. Clean bare metal. Once again it was not getting fuel today. Bit of head scratching at that point. It turned out to be the new fuel pump I had installed in december. I had put the new pump on when I got it run...

Running Out At Half A Tank
Went to dinner tonight with my inlaws. All dressed up. What car should we drive? Why not the truck? After dinner it started and moved weakly and died. No fuel in the filter can when I checked. Quite embarrassing to have to call the inlaws back to give us a ride home. I do not believe it was vapor lo...

Re: Hood Hinges
Thanks to Darren, my truck looks a lot better now. He sent me a set of good used hinges, and what a difference. Mine did have broken locating pins. They did not articulate at all. Used to take 5 minutes to close the hood, pushing it one way or another. Now the hood sits right and closes in one compl...

Re: What have you done to your slick today??
Stitches in index finger have left me down for a few days. Dr. said no doing dishes for a while. Wife immediately says no dishes means no working on the cars as well right doc? So truck sat a week waiting for more work. Finally feeling a bit better and today I installed the parking brake cables I ha...

Hood Hinges
I have read through several threads here regarding hinges and tried the suggestions. Wondering if my hinges are OK. Putting the hood down is a multi step process. Go from side to side and push each side down, finally get it to latch up front and then go back and forth to each side pushing down. Then...

Re: New from denver
It looks about like mine did at the start of December. Been daily driving mine now a few weeks. Lot of long days and a lot of money. Lost count on cost and time. I have done all the work myself except the windshield. That was 180$ installed with new gasket. So it can be done if you want to do the wo...

Re: What have you done to your slick today??
Drove mine! May not sound like much but it was at a freinds for a few days while I did disk brakes on his '64 El Camino. Was certainly glad to have it back. Still new to me and considering it was sitting 35 years until last month. Started first crank in the freezing cold and drove perfect.
