Re: Floor mat
Where'd you find an original mat? Not an "Original" mat a Ford replacement mat. It is similar but not the exact surface pattern. fit and finish is very good. I think it was Dennis Carpenter Or Ebay , a few years ago. I'll try to get a picture. For the price I've been very pleased, it's ea...

Re: Heater control valve.
you don't say which engine.
On my 292 yblock v8 I just use the old school valve with the T-handle on top. Check carpenters and Mac's or ebay.
Had one on my 223 - 6 also.
I like mine, can't get much simpler.

Re: Floor mat
I replaced my highly deteriorated original mat with a factory ford replacement mat. It fit fits and functions perfectly and the only thing I miss is it doesn't have the original lightning bolt logo on it. Also probably not as thick but still holds up very well. I don't use a pad underneath it. It's ...

$156,000 invested with receipts.
Hmm, not much of an investment?

Re: Master Cylinder help... 64 F100
FYI, I'm running discs setup on the front only of my 64/292/3 sp. I DO NOT use a power brake booster but a CCP dual master cylinder. Stops great, don't have to have a booster, IMHO. Cheaper and gives you plenty of room on the firewall. So for the money I'm not convinced the booster is worth it.

And just to add the carb you have is a super easy rebuild and should make a diff. don't forget the fuel filter.

Re: Straight Sixin' '63
A good thing to check ad try to keep maintained is the Heat riser valve between the Intake manifold and the exhaust manifold. You could also remove the valve with lots of patience and plug the open holes. But I'm not recommending this only as a last resort. This can be a very satisfying engine for y...

Re: Straight Sixin' '63
That's a nice truck. hope to see more updates. I always liked the little 223 six I had in my 64. It ran great until one day it didn't. :( I still think they are a good little engine, just hard to justify the cost of a full rebuild for me. If that were mine I think I fix as needed and drive it! They ...

You're doing a great job! I'm envious. One question, isn't it sort of a moot point to do all the detail work on the door alignment without the cab bolted solidly to the frame? Door glass and hardware add a good chunk of weight too. Sorry just watching from the sideline.

Scheming as to which way I am going to swap out the once great working new generator for a new FORD alternator. Want to keep the idiot light. And I really don't want a GM alt on there this time. I have a one wire gm on my other and willing to try something else. Thinking Mummert has the best bracket...

Re: building a temporary paint booth
All good advice so far on this. I would add that conider using emt conduit with a rope running thru it instead of pvc. Just because it is more ridgid. Won't cost that much more. BTW ths has been discussed a lot on Garagejournal.com. You might check there for example and more ideas. I've seen a guy s...

I use a couple of simple cheapo box fans with cheapo throwaway furnace filters on the intake side. Helps pull all that fog out of the air and makers a huge difference on dust control. Won't clean-up the mess you've already got though!
