'63 f100 stock drivetrain
It's about time to start tearing down my f100 to swap in my new motor and front IFS. My stock 223, tranny, front suspension parts, steering column, etc will all be available. Everything is still currently together and the 223 is running. The motor has a rebuilt carb, recent tune up, new fuel pump, a...

Re: my shipwrecked '63
Have you considered becoming a 911 dispatcher? That would allow you to work in Police/Fire and not have to do as much physical stuff. I done a lot of work for the York County 911 center and it's a really nice facility.

Re: Original 15" wheel specs
It's important that the dimensions are for a 15 x 5" rim since that appears to be correct, based on the parts catalog. My 15x6s are stamped 15x6. I imagine the 15x5 will be as well. I'm not looking for a set. What I am doing is considering 17" rims because that allows for so many more tir...

Re: Original 15" wheel specs
Any luck, Paul? Anyone else have one to measure? I have a set of innies from a '60 f100 I bought a while back. Unfortunately one of them is slightly wider that the rest. But i'm guessing the 3 that are the same are the correct ones and the wider one is a replacement from something else. These are a...

Re: Steve's 64 Short-bed Project
Decided on a price for the old front axle and springs? Yes...$600 for the complete unit which includes axle (of course) with tight king-pins, Mono-springs (they were $500 new), Disc brakes with lines (Speedway kit $280 new), KYB gas shocks ($98 new), sway bar with brackets and end links ($130 new) ...

Re: my shipwrecked '63
"Next question... front brake through frame fittings, what are they? Where can I get them?" Everything should come with new front rubber lines, or you can reuse your current lines and hardware if they are good. The fittings attached to the line are what go through the frame are made into t...

Re: my shipwrecked '63
I put the same brake line kit on mine last month. The bends were really close and i'm pretty pleased with it. For some reason they included 2 of the long lines that go from the main junction block to the rear axle flex line. Looking at your pic it looks like you may have 2 of them as well.

Re: Drove it for the first time!
My 11 year old daughter ran out of the house and started cheering. It was a great moment. I plan to pull the carb and take it with me when I go to my parents over Thanksgiving. My dad is a wiz with rebuilding carbs. Maybe after that I can get the brake lights and turn signals working correctly and t...

Re: Headlight switch stuck
Yeah, I still have it all. The switch appears to work now that it is no longer stuck. But with the obvious moisture issue I still think I should replace it. Are there multiple switch types as well?unibody madness wrote:Glad it worked out, hope you saved the shaft so you know what length to get for the new switch

Re: Headlight switch stuck
Got it out. Had to pull the knob off and use vice grips. I didn’t want to destroy the factory knob but now that I see the amount of pitting it wasn’t usable anyway.

Re: Headlight switch stuck
Guys, it's not that I can't pull the shaft out of the switch. I can't pull the switch out at all. It is stuck in the off position and will not even pull out a millimeter.

Re: Headlight switch stuck
Will the shaft still rotate? Or has the entire assembly froze in position? My first attempt would be a healthy dose of lube thru any openings I could find. Let soak, wiggle, worm, soak and repeat. I've had terminals burn up causing the plastic to adhere to the moving assembly. The only cure for def...

Headlight switch stuck
The plunger on my headlight switch will not pull out at all. Anyone else ever run into this? Anybody have an idea how I can get the switch out without destroying something?

I know this thread is a couple months old, but I just ordered and installed the Inline Tube kit for my '63. I could not find the kit for my '63 on the Inline Tube website, but I was able to find it on Ebay. I'm pretty impressed with the kit. All the bends were spot on. I did have to tweak the axle t...
