1965 left hand horn (HI)

Post by born4ford »

I am continuing to track down parts that I need for my '65 F250 but one of the simplest yet hardest to find things seems to be the left hand horn (the HI one). I have looked at or otherwise investigated over 20 trucks and only one had a left hand horn. The senior citizen that owned that '65 didn't want to sell it to me, of course.
Does anyone know why there are so many good right hand horns out there but so few left hand? More to the point, Does anyone have a left hand horn they want to let go of? I have some excess parts, maybe we could figure out a trade but, I'm certainly willing to pay for one.

Thanks for your time, Julie

I must admit, I kept setting there trying to picture a left hand horn BUTTON ! I sure have seen a lot of those aftermarket horn buttons strapped to the column, I was wondering if that was what he meant, I just wasn't thinking under the hood ! hahahah

The horns on the eBay listing have a different bracket. My '65 has flat brackets. It might be that the brackets are flat for only this one year. I know I have looked at a few '64's and older and they seem to have brackets with bends in them.

Aloha Julie!

I am also in the process of restoring a 65 F-250 Custom Cab, Camper Special in Caribbean Turquoise and Wimbeldon White. I'm missing a few things, but fairly complete. Don't have an extra horn, but if you ever need reference photos or anything let me know.... Happy to help!

Cheers!
