my truck has a fuel cell in it now but it does have the hole in the bed floor to have a under bed gas tank. it does also have a in cab hole and cap on it. but no tank. the trac bars are reversed like the XL but they are build different. the whole front end of my truck is fiberglass and it is forward tilt so i dont know if that was on the XL but mine has it. i left another message with the guy i got it from to see if he would call me back.. the buckets are from a 65 mustang with the angled tilt for backseat acess. i heard those seats are worth good money. i got the truck for a steal at 800 about a year ago. the guy wanted like 3500 for it in sept of last year and i waited to see if he would go down and he went down to like 1500 and i offered him 800 cash and he took it. the truck is in great shape no rust at all not even the cab corners or rocker or floor. it has been very well taken care of and still is. im working on getting pics on here

well may be time to call :bs: on this one. No one under 70 takes a week to get pics up

Both my kids born in 1989 and my dad born in 1931 could have posted a whole album by now.
It's a race.. Will hell freeze over or will JC finish his truck first. Stay tuned..

I dunno JC, there's plenty of guys on other sites I visit who are cronically "owned" by their confuzers when trying to load pics.
Some have the knack, some don't...hell, 5 years ago I could barely grasp the concept of a mouse, myself. I only got a digital camera 3 years ago & sucessfully melted down my first scanner mere months before that!
I'm not throwin' in the towel here just yet. :P

i am one of those who had my head under the hood of old cars and trucks while the rest of the population was learning computers.
still as a mostly computer illiterate- i cansurf and e-mail-
but i find the pics fairly simple to do.
so i will 'splain how i do it
in the post-
you can insert pics from yours or any album in here like this:
open the posting window
open the source of the pic in a new window, not a new tab.
click on the thumbnail in the gallery, when the pic opens up, drag the [albumimg] line from under the pic into the post.
bam ! theres the pic!
from other sources:
click on img at the top of the post window,
enter the url info of the pic,
click img again.
bam! theres the pic.
in the signature line:
same thing except instead of opening the post window, you open the profile page.
not sure how many yo can fit in this space but i got 2 with no hassle so far
(this site went down last night for a while so i had to quit.)

give it a try.

Absence of power train details with a Home Office Reserve DSO makes it a "White Letter" Vehicle. There is/ was no "C-o-O" [certificate of origin]. FoMoCo warranted nothing on these units. We could not service or repair a White Letter vehicle in the 1863 Warranty program. We were supposed to notify our local DSO if one came to a D-Ship for any work, even if the customer was paying. Henry didn't want White Letter units in the street, but there were still some there running around.

This is how Jr Johnson, Holman & Moody, Smokey Yunick, et al received their NASCAR candidate vehicles + how Dyno Don Nicholson, TASCA, Mickey T and other legit' NHRA campaigners got their Cars/Trucks/Econolines from Henry, back in the day.

On Toxic Dumping Business, FoMoCo was paying to have that transported & correctly disposed of, but carrier was illegally dumping & pocketing the additional disposal fees they collected from Dearborn. The same thing is what happened here in FL at two sites run by the USN, one in Orlando and another at a base in Sanford were paying a carrier to dispose of what's now called "HAZMAT" but it was being short hauled & ground dumped in woodsy areas illegally by the same "group" of waste hauling specialists.

Not like it's complicated or anything :?

I interviewed the mechanic who built the XL and have it taped. His name was on the fender at one time and just retired last summer. The XL was the only truck built by DST on behalf of Ford for racing! END OF STORY!

If you look at the upcharge to get one there was no interest in buying a truck for 1800-2000 bucks and then having DST do the upgrade for another 3500.00

i still would like to see pics of the truck this post was originally about.

glad you got the scoop from the real source as far as DST is concerned though.further goes to show that you cant believe a lot of the things you run across on the web.

My truck had a Casper the Ghost sticker on the back window when I bought it. I thought it might have the magical ability to render itself invisible and then I'd have a chance at picking up Wonder Woman and impress the hell out of my friends.

Give the machanic that built the XL an invite to S/S 08! I'm sure every one would like to meet him.

Let's get this thread back on track

The issue here is we have a new member claiming to have a very rare truck. We met him on chat last weekend and he proceeded to tell us this truck has an estimated 500hp and runs high 12s with a 302.

He has been welcomed here as all new members but his "fantasy" or should I say "phantom" truck or lack there of is starting to annoy me a little.

Farmer Bill's XL is somewhat of an icon (at least in my mind) and anybody claiming to have anything similar better well step up to the plate.

Garbz' lack of photo posting ability aside  , several members have provided adequate info on how to get some pics up here.

Bottom line, my turn to call :bs:
